The Alchemist has worked with seemingly everyone in contemporary music, so it’s a big deal when he says a studio experience was “life altering” — which is exactly the language he used to describe a session with Erykah Badu.
On Tuesday (December 10), the producer posted a series of photos showing him and Badu in the lab. He captioned the montage “Life altering,” while tagging Badu.

True to the beatmaker’s somewhat bizarre sense of humor, he added audio to the post of a Dr. Phil/Madea conversation from the 2009 film Madea Goes to Jail.

In addition to life-changing sessions with singers, The Alchemist has been busy rolling out a new album with Roc Marciano.
The duo just dropped the video for their new song “Chopstick,” which stands as the first single off their new album, The Skeleton Key.

The Evidence-directed visual finds the pair cruising the streets of Los Angeles as Roc spits over the Alcc-produced beat.
The tracklist and cover art have also been revealed, ahead of the album’s release to streaming services on Friday (December 13). Before then, fans can listen exclusively on Roc’s website.

The LP follows the duo’s 2022 collaborative album, The Elephant Man’s Bones.
The Skeleton Key will serve as Roc Marciano’s second album of 2024 following Marciology, which arrived back in March and earned a 4 out 5 score from HipHopDX.
