Teyana Taylor has given her old friend and fellow musician Lil Wayne a very special present: an exclusive pair of Rose in Harlem Air Jordan 1s.

The singer/actress gifted the former Hot Boy the sneakers on Saturday (May 6), prompting a very effusive post from the “Lollipop” rapper on the Young Money social media pages.

“These bitches is beautiful,” he said in the video. “Also, you told me it was because of the roses that I gave you and thank you. You ain’t gotta give me nothing back. I can’t match this.”

The roses in question were gifted to Teyana Taylor by Lil Wayne back in 2020, when he was invited to her Dirty Thirty birthday party in Miami, Florida.

The exclusive sneakers, so named after Teyana’s 2018 song “Rose in Harlem,” are a teaser for her upcoming collaboration with the Nike brand. According to Sole Collector, Taylor and Nike first announced the deal back in February, and the sneakers should be available to the general public later this summer.

“The shoe features an upper remixed with displaced Swooshes, gold hardware, and rose-inspired details,” reports the outlet. “‘TEY’ is displayed across the left tongue tag and alternating inner collars read ‘A Rose’ and ‘From Harlem.’ According to zSneakerheadz, this is likely the Zoom CMFT 2 version of the model.”

This collaboration with Nike is just the latest big-money move made by the Harlem native.

Back in March, Taylor announced that she’d been cast as the legendary Dionne Warwick in an upcoming biopic about the singer.

“We’re already working on it,” Teyana Taylor confirmed. “We’re in the building process right now. I’ve always wanted to make sure, like, I could lock in with any person that I would be playing, you know? How Angela and Tina [Turner] was, how Jamie Foxx and Ray Charles, you know what I’m saying? Like, to really get to know them and I miss when movies was like that, when you get to know them and tap in and just bond.”

She continued: “We talk almost everyday. That’s my girl. Me, her, and her son. I mean, I’ve always been a firm believer in just always standing on safety. She’s had a wonderful career, you know, and I think right now it’s about making her feel as safe as possible so she can tell her story. A lot of these stories get misconstrued or extremely dramatized to an extent and that’s not where we want to go.”
