BC’s Swollen Members have always had a reputation as being incredible live performers, but success has been known to change that. nd success is one thing that has blessed Mad Child and Previal as of late. The sophomore LP “Bad Dreams” was met with critical acclaim and record sales that have dwarfed anything else to come out of Canada in a while. Thankfully, their success has not hurt their stage show as it does with so many artists.
I caught their show on Sunday night in a small club that only held 140 people and even though they packed in 150, it sounded like there was about 700. After up and comer DJ Murge set things off with a dope old school set that he blessed with some ill scratching, Abstract Rude hit the stage with a vengeance. Fellow Battle Axe warrior Moka Only followed him out and continued the energy. revial and Mad Child came out next and got the crowd into a frenzy when the kicked “Killing Spree.” Both emcees had incredible energy and gave the crowd a show they will not soon forget.
