Sukihana has issued a statement following the media storm that came after YK Osiris publicly forced himself on the rapper at a Crew League basketball tournament in Atlanta last weekend.

The Love & Hip Hop: Miami star took to Instagram on Friday (June 16) to reveal that she’s accepted the Def Jam singer’s apology and explain why she’s decided to let bygones be bygones while others have called for YK Osiris to face sexual assault charges.

Starting off her lengthy response by thanking those who’ve reached out to her to be supportive of what took place, Sukihana noted that YK Osiris has apologized both “privately and publicly” and that she’s forgiven him because “God always forgives me and I can always forgive others.”

Sukihana then said that her accepting his apology isn’t “excusing or lessening the severity of his actions,” but she is choosing to give “grace” to the 24-year-old artist outside of her entertainment persona.

Suki highlighted that she wants the Def Jam signee to “respect the personal boundaries of others” because she holds many titles, including being a human, a woman, a mother, and daughter, which comes before being an entertainer, and that “no matter what my lyrics express, I still have boundaries and the right to have them.”

Ending her statement by saying she’s “getting back to [her] life,” Sukihana added: “I am giving YK the grace and forgiveness that I wanted to be given to me as I was discovering and defining myself on this very public and sometimes unforgiving entertainment platform. Thank you again. I deeply appreciate your support.”

She captioned the post by saying, “I am a pro black woman and I am not into tearing black men down. This is something I am choosing to forgive him for. I love him and accept his apology. I would like to move on from this.”

In a video that went viral on Wednesday (June 14), Osiris was seen forcing a kiss with the 31-year-old rapper.

Sukihana looked visibly shocked and uncomfortable as YK Osiris, who was stood behind her, clasped her head and forced his tongue down her throat as she commentated on the game alongside Lil Duval, Funny Marco and Buster Scher.

Osiris’ behavior was widely condemned on social media and lead to allegations of sexual assault. While she didn’t address the incident directly at the time, Sukihana posted multiple tweets on Wednesday revealing she was “hurt” and “crying all day,” before deactivating her Twitter account.

“I am hurt and scared to stand up for myself,” she wrote. “I drink to hide that I’m very sensitive. I feel things more then [sic] the average person. I stopped drinking yesterday but today I’ve been crying all day. I asked God to strengthen me and use me to help others and to order my steps in his word. I just want to go away for awhile.”

Following the backlash, YK Osiris took to Instagram on Thursday (June 15) to apologize to the rapper/reality TV star, saying he “misread the moment” and is “embarrassed” by his actions.

“I want to publicly offer my sincerest apology to Sukihana. In an attempt to be playful, I misread the moment and violated Sukihana’s boundaries. I understand the importance of consent and I am embarrassed by my behavior.”

He added: “I take full responsibility and have made multiple attempts to apologize. I have the utmost admiration for Sukihana and it was never my intention to disrespect her.”

Although Sukihana is receptive of YK Osiris’ apology, her mother was singing a completely different tune. In an Instagram post on Thursday (June 15), Lori Lee called YK Osiris out for his “fake ass apology” and let him know there’d be smoke if they ever run into each other in person.

“Fake Ass Apology Bitch,” she wrote in her since-deleted post. “When I catch you it’s still up [angry emoji].”
