In some of the worst news to come about in a while, Styles Of Beyond have split up. The west coast group consisting of Takbir, Ryu and DJ Cheapshot have decided to part ways. “Basically the break was a mutual decision between the three of us due to creative differences,” explains DJ Cheapshot “We are all still on good terms, but want to take it in different directions. Ryu and I will be working on Ryu’s solo project “Megadef” and Tak has joined an unnamed live band.”
Styles only released on album together, “2000 Fold” was released in 1998 and was met with critical acclaim. Anyone reading this should do themselves a favor and get that album, it is loaded with incredibly hard hitting, up tempo beats and good conscious rhymes. DJ Cheapshot also had this to say, “From being the main producer for Ryu’s solo project, I can already tell you that his solo debut will be stronger than anything SOB has ever put out. The sound may have changed a little bit, but Ryu has stepped up the delivery and lyrics a lot.” Cheapshot also said that the project would either be released a major label or his own Spytech Records.
