Spotify Lists All The Ways They Supported Nicki Minaj’s “Queen”

    After being accused of Florida voting levels of sabotage, Spotify is defending the company name as the smoke of Nicki Minaj’s epic Twitter rant still lingers.

    A company rep for the powerful DSP relayed the message to Variety after the megastar says her alignment with Apple Music caused Spotify to “teach her a lesson,” prompting her album to fall short of the coveted Billboard 200 No. 1 spot.

    “Spotify supported Nicki Minaj with a Times Square billboard, a host of the largest playlists, New Music Friday and the new music release shelf,” the rep said. “Her song ‘Bed’ actually saw an increase based on the promotions put behind the campaign. The company continues to be big fans of Nicki,” the statement read.

    Nicki actually shared the Times Square billboard on her Instagram page last week.

    In tomorrow’s (August 21) episode of the Beats 1 Queen Radio show, Minaj has promised to address all of the past week’s events, and apparently will now honor Harriet Tubman (whose name she made trend on Twitter earlier today) in the process.

    2. Spotify yall aint even gotta “defend” yourselves from this crybaby, blaming everyone else for her L except herself. Spotify is a place to get music and unless they get paid by label or whoever, they are not responsible for promoting her album.

    4. The sheep fall for it again. Am I the only one that see’s this as nothing as marketing for her album. The more she is in the news complaining (marketing) about her album, the more people will take a listen to it , which leads to more plays, which leads to more money.

      1. This is not the Kanye brand of marketing where you act controversial for spins. What we a witnessing is a meltdown my guy. Anything that’s not number one for this promo will result in her showing claws and teeth. Besides it seems to be having the opposite effect everyone outside the barbs are being turned off. Not good for sales
