Soulja Boy, Fat Joe, Others Share Christmas Wishes

In preparation for Christmas tomorrow, HipHopDX spoke to a few of Hip Hop’s bigger stars from 2007 and beyond on what these men might want to see under their tree.

The most successful fresh face of 2007, Soulja Boy was one of the most candid. With his SouljaBoyTellEm.com debut album picking up steam weekly since its summer release, the writer and producer behind the “Crank Dat” phenomenon simply tells like it could be, “For Christmas, I want a platinum-selling album,” the 17 year-old told DX. Having recently bypassed gold (517,672 sold as of last Wednesday) with continued week-to-week impressive chart positions, it’s likely that Soulja Boy‘s present might get lost in the mail, before arriving in January or February.

Birdman, who’s seen his share of platinum plaques, was a bit more extroverted in his holiday hopes. “I want to make sure everybody got what they want. I ain’t trippin’ off
me. I feel like I live the life of 100 men. Fifty cars, 100 houses, 10
million in jewelry, there ain’t much more I could want. I’m satisfied.
My whole thing is making sure every nigga I fuck with, everybody I like
and love, that their Christmas be good, and I’m good
,” said the artist and co-CEO of Cash Money Records. Although the Internal Revenue Services might take that audit of cars and homes a bit too literally, without question, the 38-year-old has plenty to be thankful for.

One of Birdman‘s longtime industry friends, Fat Joe, was also family-minded. “Fat Joe wants to see his son do good in school. He wants to see his son bring home a good report card,” he told DX in early December. Although school reports are usually a private matter, HipHopDX emphasizes the value of education to all students.

Lastly, Sha Money XL, equally emphatic of family, stressed the importance of celebration itself. “I just want to have all five of my kids up here with me, my wife,
everybody chillin’, and getting the whole Christmas vibe – the eggnog,
candles, lights on, and I’m good. I have everything I want in life.
There’s nothing on my list but going to church, giving back, and
    tithing to my faithful Lord.

The staff at HipHopDX and Cheri Media Group would like to extend all of our readers and supporters a happy holiday season. We thank you for another outstanding year.
