Falling victim to Rawkus’ fuckery in the past year, Tek and Steele are finally getting set to release their highly anticipated third LP. The duo from the Boot Camp Click got their original name back this past year after releasing their sophomore LP as the Cocoa Brovas due to legal problems with Smith & Wessun. 2001 saw Smif’n Wessun fall into the category of infinitely delayed albums on Rawkus with Kool G Rap, Last Emporer, and Soundbombing III.
In a recent interview with DaveyD, Tek stated that the album entitled “Still Shinin’” is complete and is in the final mix down stages. He also said that Da Beatminerz hooked up 6 tracks, and other artists that will appear are Talib Kweli, Buckshot, Mr Ripper, Starang Wondah and Mr Victor. What is with all of these artists trying to reclaim their past glory with album titles? Let’s hope that Smif’n Wessun take a cue from Nas and not from Warren G or Fat Joe.
