Skillz hasn’t been as heavy on the mic as of late, but he’s certainly proved he’s still got it with his latest drop, “Chic-Fil-A @ 7am.”
Released via his Instagram on Monday (December 18) alongside an accompanying video, the Virginia wordsmith goes in over the beat for The Temptations’ “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone.” With no shortage of bars in the new freestyle, the “Rap Up” creator calls out haters with small toilets and dirty microwaves, as well as cap rappers.

“I’m Mike Jack off the WOAH/ Can’t believe y’all got GALL to think that’ I’ve fallen/ It ain’t that I think I’m big shit/ Naw bitch, your toilet’s small!” he raps. “I don’t wanna hear shit/ Naw prick, I don’t miss – get an early grave/ And I ain’t bout to go back and forth with nobody that got a dirty microwave!”
Elsewhere he spits: “Saying you rap? You cap/ I like to deal in true facts/ You the first rapper to put Virginia on? Bitch you might wanna get a new map!”

“Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone” was originally sampled on 1973 break-in record “Super Fly Meets Shaft,” which tells a story about the main characters from the 1970s films Super Fly and Shaft. As a callback, Skillz posted up in with a Super Fly poster behind him in the visual for his latest track.

For anyone expecting to hear another Skillz “Rap Up” later this month, where the VA rapper would recap the noteworthy events of the year, you’re going to be a little disappointed. After dropping them yearly for close to two decades, he delivered what he said was his final offering in the beloved series.
“Thats it for me yall,” he wrote on Twitter with its release. “A even 20. And if you know me? You know trolling aint me, Im too old for that. All I ask is that this time next year? You respect my decision. Thanks for everything. Couldnt have done wit w/o yall! #theendofanera.”
And while Skillz is considered to be one of the best writers of his era, he recently declared Will Smith as the greatest storyteller in Hip Hop.
Over the summer, the Virginia MC took to Twitter to share an old photo of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith from back when the Bad Boys actor went by the name The Fresh Prince.
