Shy Glizzy is alive and well, according to his DJ, despite rumors circulating online to the contrary.

The Washington, D.C. native became the latest victim of a death story on Wednesday (August 16), allegedly after a local news blog incorrectly named him as the victim in what was first thought to be a fatal shooting.

Glizzy’s DJ, DJ Flow, took to Twitter later that night and debunked the claims, confirming his friend was alive and well.

“SHY GLIZZY IS ALIVE F### IS WRONG WITH YALL,” he wrote, followed by a screenshot of a current text conversation between the two of them. “For the weirdos who need confirmation,” he added.

In the screenshot, Flow asks his friend to just confirm he’s okay and a photo is sent in return.

The initial news blog also shared a retraction, writing on its page: “@Jefe is alive and the person shot tonight is conscious and breathing and isn’t him!!!”

A lot of drama has surrounded Shy Glizzy as of late. Last month, he was cleared of all charges brought against him by an ex-girlfriend who claimed he pulled a gun on her.

TMZ reported that the dismissal happened because of “a lack of significant evidence and an inadmissible search and seizure.”

That claim is a very serious one. According to the Cornell University School of Law, an inadmissible search and seizure is one that is either executed without a valid search warrant, without probable cause that the defendant did anything to merit the initial search and seizure, and/or one that extends the initial scope of an already-existing (and otherwise legal) search and seizure. An inadmissible search and seizure is also a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution.

Regardless, TMZ is claiming that Shy Glizzy’s ex is still petitioning the court for a permanent restraining order against him, despite the charges being dismissed. It’s not clear whether this request will be granted, despite Colon currently having a temporary restraining order against him.

Back in May, Glizzy (real name Marquis King) was arrested in West Hollywood after a verbal altercation with his ex.

During the argument, the D.C. native allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened Colon with it. He was booked on a felony charge of making threats and released after posting a $50,000 bond.

According to TMZ, Glizzy’s former partner was granted a temporary restraining order. In her request, she told a judge that he’s been threatening her ever since she broke up with him at the end of April.

Colon claimed that the “Do You Understand?” rapper specifically threatened to kill her and her family, as well as any future romantic partners she may have down the line.

According to the model, Glizzy sent her a text saying: “I’ma fuck ya life up,” and posted explicit photos and videos of her online in the hopes of tarnishing her modeling career.

Colon said that things escalated on May 13, when she spotted him following her in his car. She claimed that while stopped at a red light, Glizzy approached her vehicle brandishing a gun and began hitting it on her windshield.

Colon reportedly fled, at which point Glizzy allegedly got back into his vehicle and pursued her, going so far as to hit her car to try and force her off the road.

Per the temporary restraining order, the rapper has to stay 100 yards away from his ex-girlfriend. He is also barred from contacting her or posting or distributing any explicit photos or videos online.

Shy Glizzy denied all the allegations against him via a post on his Instagram Story in May. “The accusations made against me are completely false,” he wrote. “I would never in my life pull a weapon or harm a female in any way so stop with the BS allegations! What is wrong with ppl?”
