Scarface Unearths “Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files”

Serving as the follow-up to 2015’s Deeply Rooted, Scarface is back with aptly titled Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files. The 10-track album features “Black Still,” a tribute to Public Enemy’s 1988 classic, “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos.”

Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files serves as the 12th solo album from the Geto Boys MC and one of three not released on Houston’s Rap-A-Lot Records. Both Deeply Rooted and its sequel were released by the Let’s Talk imprint.

Scarface has announced his new album, Deeply Rooted: The Lost Files, his follow-up to 2015’s Deeply Rooted. The Houston rap legend also unveiled the release date and tracklist for the 10-track project, which is expected to arrive December 15.

The announcement came with a fresh visual for “Black Still,” the LP’s first official single. For the track, the Geto Boys OG reimagined Public Enemy’s “Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos” from the 1988 classic, It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.

      1. Dude, the first ‘Deeply Rooted’ is one hell of an album. Go listen to it and you’ll understand what good music means.

    1. So I announce December 15 as my release date and now other rappers wanna feed off that date too? I’m still gonna outsell everybody and have the better album.

      1. You’re the asshole that bought 2 ‘Face tracks in 2017 after you heard them in Office Space and all the sudden you’re an expert and you’re “down”. I bet you have a few Lil Yachty tracks and maybe some Weeknd in the same playlist as Ak you little fruit bait. I fucking hate you.

    2. Dope. Scarface is performing in Long Beach California December 23rd
can’t wait. ive been wanting to see Scarface perform forever

    3. Yeeeessss! Scarface never disappoints, and he is getting better with age. Deeply Rooted was CLASSIC imo, and this will be a nice complementary piece to that album. Right on time, Face!

    4. shut da hell up u cry baby ass bitch. 60yr old bitch still trying to rap . white people were slaves before any of u f*cking idiots were. white people don’t owe u a mother f*cking thing bitch always looking for free hand outs . always want people to feel sorry for ur sorry asses slavery was over 100yrs ago get da f*ck over it already. always thinking someone owes u nobody don’t owe u a mother f*cking thing.

      1. They don’t want you to feel sorry about slavery…they want the current racist system to be fixed. The only ppl who’s SHOULD (but won’t) feel sorry for slavery are the arrogant and ignorant racists such as yourself. Go read a book..if you even can read that is.

    5. I can’t get into this. His style is so outdated. Hip hop is a young man’s game and old men just sound corny to me, even when they’re dropping a lot of good knowledge

    6. STRAIGHT UP GARBAGE. THE WHOLE DAMN ALBUM IS WACK AS HELL. RAPPING ABOUT DA SAME OLD BULLSHIT. OLD ASS NEED TO HANG IT UP
