Last Friday, Scott Rauch, president of Russell Simmons‘ Simmons Jewelry Company donated over $300,000 to the Diamond Empowerment Fund, another charity of Simmons‘, focused on educational funding to African nations where diamonds are a primary resource.
Both the jewelry line and the fund were founded last year. Simmons Jewelry is focused about its green initiative, beginning with bracelets that are owned and worn by celebrities such as John Mayer, Beyonce and Bill Clinton. With each sale of these $125 suggested retail bracelets, $20 goes to the Diamond Empowerment Fund.
