Los Angeles, CA

Roddy Ricch took the title of his Feed Tha Streets mixtape series literally earlier this week, giving back to some Los Angeles residents by paying for their groceries.

The Compton native got on the loudspeaker of an L.A. grocery store and surprised customers by letting them know he’d be paying all of their tabs for the day.

“It’s Roddy Ricch, if I got any shoppers in here we just came through to pay for anybody’s groceries for the next 30 minutes,” he said over the P.A. system.

“If you got your groceries and you want us to pay for them and help y’all out. We here for y’all, make your way to the register — we got y’all and we appreciate y’all. We love [L.A.]. Happy holidays.”

Roddy went on to hear stories from customers who were very appreciative of his gesture to the point one woman was on the verge of tears.

“Thank you so much, I just wanna cry right now,” she said, while another shopper added: “This is a blessing today.”

The generosity came just as Roddy Ricch unleashed his long-awaited Feed Tha Streets 3 project from his famed mixtape series on Friday (November 18). The tape boasts 15 tracks compacted into 39 minutes with limited guest appearances from Lil Durk and Ty Dolla $ign.

The Grammy-winning rapper has done plenty of giving back in recent weeks, including when he pulled up to a middle school to offer some words of wisdom during his tour stop with Post Malone in New York City last month.

“We just wanted to come by and show y’all some love and be active in the community and just let y’all know that there’s somebody out there that care for y’all,” he told the children in the school’s auditorium. “Everything we do is for the kids. We here for y’all. I was once y’all.”

Roddy was also honored with an official citation by New York State Assemblywoman Monique Chandler-Waterman for his positive impact on the community.
