RNB RADAR founder Tomi has stepped down from his post as CEO of the company he founded after a rape accusation made by an alleged former girlfriend went viral and people began coming forward with their own stories about his alleged behavior.

Exclaim!reported that Tomi (real name Oluwatomisin Sanni) resigned as of Wednesday (July 12), which came shortly after his now-former company issued a statement of its own on Twitter, condemning his behavior and informing its readers that staff would be not be updating the site pending further review of the accusations.

“As a collective of writers, producers, advisors, playlisters, and contributors – we are aware of the very serious allegations circulating about RNB Radar co-founder Tomi,” RNB RADAR wrote. “We do not condone, turn a blind eye to, or agree with the type of behaviour and actions that have been alleged in any way shape or form.”

The publication continued: “We are also hurt and saddened by what we see unfolding in our community – all RNB Radar activities are paused as we look into this matter further and determine next steps.”

This isn’t the first time that accusations have levied against the RNB RADAR founder, as noted music executive/A&R and advocate DDot Omen pointed out in his own Twitter thread.

However, the allegations that set off this latest firestorm came from @curlygxdess on Twitter, after she detailed what she allegedly faced as a result of her two-year relationship with the RNB RADAR founder. According to her, she claimed that Tomi “is an abuser in all senses. I was with him for two years, and in that time, he mentally abused me, emotionally abused me, and physically abused me.”

She then went into extensive detail about his alleged cheating and physical abuse, claiming that at one point, “he started punching me and beating me so much to the point that I thought I was blind in one eye.”

“And please let me reiterate that is just a GLIMPSE. I could never put into words everything RnB Tomi put me through because I endured years of the abuse, the cheating, the forceful sex and so much more! & I was always afraid to speak up.. not anymore!” she wrote in a follow-up tweet.

After @curlygxdess came forward with her accusations, other people began sharing their experiences with the RNB RADAR founder, as well.

Two interns — @julesbevibin and @_courtmichelle — came forward with their experiences, implying that they were being asked to cover up for Tomi’s misdeeds.

Artists, too, began speaking out against the RNB RADAR founder. “Deeply disturbed by the allegations I’ve been seeing about Tomi & RNB Radar,” wrote singer-songwriter Ballad. “As a rape victim this is not something I take lightly. I will have no association with that platform from here forward. My love goes to the victims. I am so sorry and I pray for your healing.”

Gen-Direct wrote: “I have been at a loss for words. It’s been hard to comprehend that someone I looked at as a friend could be capable of the things I’ve heard. But history has shown that we don’t always know people. In light of the recent allegations, I will no longer be associating with RnbTomi or RnbRadar. I stand with any victims of assault. The GDM community is a safe place for all and will remain that way.”

Before he deactivated his Twitter account, RNB Tomi responded to the allegations with a statement of his own, admitting he had “cheated” on past partners and resorted to “gaslighting and verbally attacking the women involved,” but he denied all allegations of “sexual assault, rape, and pedophilia,” according to Exclaim!

“I want to address the serious allegations of sexual assault, rape, and pedophilia that have been made against me,” he began. “It is important for me to clarify that these accusations are entirely false. However, I want to take responsibility for the harm I have caused to individuals within…

“I have cheated on my past partners, both physically and through social media/text by sending explicit images. Instead of handling these situations maturely and ending the relationships, I resorted to gaslighting and verbally attacking the women involved.”

He concluded: “I apologize to all my past employees for creating a hostile work environment through my verbal interactions and for abruptly letting you go without adequate explanation. I cannot proudly call myself a CEO when this is how I have treated my team and those who have supported me the most.

“After reading all your opinions and stories about your experiences with me online, I have been awakened to the reality of my actions and how I have treated fellow curators, tastemakers and others in the music industry.”
