Rihanna has shared her excitement about seeing Kendrick Lamar perform in the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show as she praised the L.A. MC.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight published on Thursday (October 24), Rih’s admiration for K.dot was on full display, as she offered her perspective as someone who’s own Halftime Show performance made headlines and broke records.

“What is there to doubt on that?,” she said. “It’s a diamond on a ring finger, honey; it’s meant to be. It’s Kendrick Lamar. He deserves it. I cannot wait to see it. Kendrick, thank you.”

The NFL’s selection of Kendrick Lamar as the headlining Halftime Show performer for the upcoming Super Bowl LIX didn’t go over well with everyone.

But at least one artist has had a change of heart despite previously expressing his disappointment that the Los Angeles native was chosen to do the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans over Lil Wayne.

On Monday (October 21), Juvenile and Mannie Fresh stopped by Power 106’s Brown Bag Morning Show in Los Angeles, where the topic came up. When asked if they’d pull up for the big show if Kendrick asked them to, Juvie didn’t hesitate to confirm he would, then clarified that his issue is really with the NFL and not K.dot himself.

“Kendrick is one of the best performers we’ve ever seen,” the New Orleans legend said. “He’s top notch, especially in Hip Hop. In the Hip Hop world, he raises the bar. So it’s something that everybody want to see, and if he calls, I’m there. No problem.”

Mannie then added: “The thing is, the internet always makes something that it’s not. They want to make everything so black and white. We took a side ’cause we said that it would be cool if Wayne was in it. Of course we going to say that — that’s our team.”

Juvie continued: “Kendrick is that dude. I never threw shade on Kendrick not one time because I don’t live my life like that. I don’t like to tear somebody else down. I feel like Wayne was campaigning for that spot, you know? He came out months ahead of time. I’m like, if he[‘s] asking for it, at least consider him — give him a call or something.

“My quarrel was never with JAY-Z or Kendrick or anything like that. My quarrel was with the NFL. They come to our city and they throw this big major event and they rent all the buildings and they don’t let the people from the city on and we don’t see those benefits. I feel like the NFL dropped the ball.”
