Rihanna Shares Adorable Look At Baby Son Ahead Of Oscars Performance

Rihanna has shared the most adorable photos of her baby boy with fans on social media ahead of her upcoming performance at the 2023 Academy Awards.

On Sunday (March 5), Rihanna took to Instagram to share some pics of her son, who apparently might be harboring a little jealousy of his future sibling. The Barbadian-bred mogul poked fun at her son, who, unfortunately, won’t be able to join his mother at the Oscars this year.

Rihanna confirmed she was pregnant again with her second child following her Super Bowl LVII performance.

“My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him,” she captioned her post.

The 35-year-old mother of two was nominated for an Oscar this year for Best Original Song for “Lift Me Up,” taken from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. The “Work” hitmaker is also set to perform during the big show.

However, RiRi has some stiff competition this year — Lady Gaga and Bloodpop have been nominated for “Hold My Hand” for the Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack as well as Dianne Warren’s “Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman.

David Byrne, Son Lux, and Mitski have been nominated for their song from Everything Everywhere All At Once, “This is a Life.” RRR, the Indian drama and action film, which surpassed a major milestone by becoming the first song from an Indian movie to get nominated in the category, is also in the running.

In an interview with British Vogue, Rihanna opened up about her relationship with A$AP Rocky and her experiences with early motherhood.

“Oh my God, it’s legendary,” she said of her first nine months as a mother. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.

She continued: “You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because…because it doesn’t matter.”

The interview came on the heels of her Super Bowl 2023 performance, which went down at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on Sunday evening (February 12). During the 13-minute set, Rihanna delivered a medley of hits, including “Work,” “Umbrella,” and “Diamonds,” as well as Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” and JAY-Z’s “Run this Town.”

The performance didn’t go over well with some viewers. The singer’s halftime show was hit with over 100 complaints from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for being too pornographic for viewers.

According to a report from TMZ, people flooded the FCC with complaints about Rihanna’s performance being too sexual. The issue with the show came from the lyrics and choreography and people comparing it to pornography.

TMZ obtained 103 complaints made by the FCC, with most of them having to do with the backup dancers doing “overtly sexual” dances during Rihanna’s comeback performance. One person in particular compared RiRi’s set to Kim Petra and Sam Smith’s sultry performance at the 2023 Grammys.

“I don’t care what someone worships but children shouldn’t be exposed to pornography and as an adult I don’t wish to see it … Where has decency gone? How about respect for others and self,” the person wrote.
