Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, and Uncle Luke have been tapped as halftime performers as the Miami Dolphins incorporate a celebration of Hip Hop into their attempt to secure the AFC East title.

On Saturday (January 6), the Hard Rock Stadium — home to the Miami Dolphins — made an announcement on X (formerly Twitter), revealing an exciting collaboration with Hip Hop heavyweights, during the high-stakes matchup between the Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills.

Celebrating [50 emoji]  years of Hip Hop at Sunday’s @MiamiDolphins game [musical note emoji],” the tweet reads before unveiling its lineup. “During halftime, we’ll have a special performance by @unclelukereal1, @RickRoss, @305MAYOR, @TRINArockstarr, @djnasty305, and @FLMemorialUniv‘s Official Marching Band: THE ROAR!”

The announcement was met with mixed reactions from fans both angered and perplexed by the Dolphin’s choice in entertainment.

Ahhhh yes this why the @NFL is losing ratings because of crap like this. Fans of football DINT CARE!!!!,” wrote one user.

“Great examples for the youth of Miami,” a second user commented. While one fan in particular alleged they recycled the idea, writing, “Just completely stole this idea from the Falcons. The difference is Atlanta actually had a huge impact on hip-hop, unlike Miami”

Another fan, saw the announcement as an opportunity to hype up the highly-anticipated match-up. “There’s no way we don’t win this game #FinsUp [dolphin emoji],” the comment reads.

The popular YouTuber asking the MMG boss to name his top three favorite rappers. Without hesitation, he rattled off two iconic New York MCs and a California-made legend, all rounding out his personal Hip Hop Mount Rushmore.

“Top three? That’s Big, that’s Pac, and that’s Hov,” he said around the 10-minute mark of the interview, published on Thursday (January 4). “And a lot of times, for the youngsters, just know that when you hear the OGs like myself and other n-ggas say those names so commonly, it’s because they had the biggest effect, you know what I’m sayin’?”
