With a series of Twitter messages sent Friday, Wale hinted at a possible signing with Rick Ross and his Maybach Music imprint. Wale’s debut, Attention Deficit, was released on Allido and distributed through Interscope; he’s also co-managed by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. Rick Ross, who was also signed to Def Jam by Jay-Z who was the label’s president at the time, recently spoke on the potential partnership with The Source magazine.
“I’m talking to Wale,” Ross confirmed. “Wale is a hustler. I feel he’s one record away from being the next nigga,” Ross added. “He’s just a naturally fly nigga. Slick talking nigga. That’s right up my alley. I just think that camaraderie, riding with Rozay, it’ll mean that much more. I feel he’s one record away.”
The Maybach Music roster currently includes Triple C’s—Young Breed and Gunplay—as well as Cash Chris. Ross added that he’s hoping to expand the roster by signing Meek Millz and Reggae artist Jah Cure to the roster as well.
I just hope he doesnt sellout and keep putting out more tracks like “Shades” & “Diary” because Attention Deficit is on my classic list. If he can keep making songs like that I might be able to deal with a few “No Hands” type songs.

What’s REALLY gonna happen is, if Wale signs, he’ll ghostwrite for the Bawse, he’ll get connects to more Southern producers (’cause “No Hands” gets more play than ANY song Wale dropped), and he’ll drop another CD. If it does better than AD, it was a good move…..we’ll have to wait and see.
Congrats to the bawse if he pulls this off and he’s label. There’s a good and a bad for Wale. Good news if he’s pushed right he’ll be bigger then he is now. Because he has access to well-known southern producers, southern artists, and Ross is affliated with diddy. But the bad news is Wale could end up just ghostwrting for the artists on the label, I seriously doubt Maybach music knows how to promote Wale, and Ross is sign to a label himself. I never agree with an artist signed to another artist thats signed himself. The only way this can work is if Ross takes a back seat to his own career and run the label. I doubt Ross will do that right now.

Well statistics say when the lead rapper on a label can barely go gold signing side acts isn’t a good idea… If Wale signs to Maybach he will probably sell 10,000 in his first week… I’m not saying that Wale wouldn’t spit some hard lyrical sh!t I’m just saying that the general population wouldn’t give it the time of day….
