Rick Ross apparently had at least one extremely dissatisfied customer at his recent car show — to the point where he’s being sued.
On Friday (August 9), TMZ broke the news that Rozay is being taken to court by a man named Darris Straughter.
Straughter, who is in a wheelchair, claims in the suit that the staff of Ross’s big car show confirmed more than once that they would provide a wheelchair-accessible shuttle bus to take him to the event. But, he says, on the day of the event it never showed up.
The man says that in addition to paying for a ticket to the event, he also shelled out for lodging and travel, and even sold his car so that he could afford the event.
He is reportedly suing for breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Ross, who spent Friday night in Monte Carlo, has not yet responded to news of the suit.
Rick Ross’s third annual car show took place on June 1 at his sprawling Promise Land estate in Fayetteville, GA.
A few days in advance of the show, he shared an eye-popping prize he planned to give to one lucky winner.
In a video shared online on May 25, the MMG mogul unveiled a 37 carat VVS diamond car key worth $130,000 that he planned to hand out at his automobile event.
“The car show a few days away. It’s time to show the winners what you’ll receive. It’s never been done like this,” he said while sat next to a jeweler on a yacht.
“I got the number one jeweler in the city, Vobara, here with me. We doin’ this for the streets. You see that? […] Real stones. We’re putting our money where our mouth at. This is something that never been done.”
Last year, the Biggest Bawse adorned the winners of his car show with similarly pricey jewelry.
Rozay previously claimed to have spent about $300,000 in jewelry for the winners and posted a few of the Rolls-Royce-inspired pieces online.
You sold your car to go to Rick’s car show? That’s beyond stupid.
I hope Officer Ross has to pay..Put some spinners on that chair 🛞 call Xzibit bro
Just take the L and move on. Has he seen how unorganized and chaotic those things are? Fat boy doesn’t know what he’s doing.
This guy sold his car to go to a car show, so its kinda hard to have sympathy for him. It sucks they didnt have the service, but you mean to tell me he spent all that money and didnt have any left for an uber ? Maybe refund his ticket for the show, but the airfare, hotel, and his sold car should be on him.
You sold your car to go look at other cars. I hope the courts rule in Officer Ricky’s favor.
