Rick Ross has revealed the first rap name he ever received in the fourth grade and how terrible it was, given it was based on a movie.

During a visit to the Crazy Sexy Cool Show this week, Rozay took a minute to reveal what his first rap name was. According to the Maybach Music Group boss, he was in a rap group in the fourth grade, and his friends gave him a rap name that he wasn’t too fond of.

“By the time, I may have been in the fourth grade when we was like our first rap group, like, ‘Yo, we a rap group,” Ross said before the show host asked if he remembered his first rap name.

He initially said he didn’t want to reveal the name given how corny it is and then showed the host he has it tatted on his arm. He eventually said his first rap name was Willow, inspired by the 1988 film of the same name.

According to Ross, his friends called him Willow after the titular character played by Warwick Davis. In the film, Davis, who also happens to suffer from Dwarfism, played a magician that teamed up with a warrior to protect a baby.

“Where that came from, it was a film with the short, fat dude, and you know everybody knew me as Will, and they was like, ‘Yo, you Willow,’ and I was like ‘That’s wack.'”

The rapper formerly known as Willow was recently selected to perform as part of this year’s Rock The Bells Cruise. In celebration of Hip Hop turning 50 this year, the unique cruise experience will be brought to life in partnership with Sixthman, and the Norwegian Pearl sets sail from Miami to The Bahamas on November 13, 2023 for four nights through November 17, 2023.

Earlier this month, LL COOL J and Rock The Bells unveiled the full lineup of performers. Rozay, Ghostface and Big Boi will be joined by the likes of Lil Jon, DJ Jazzy Jeff, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick and Too $hort.

Other names include Just Blaze, Mannie Fresh, Pete Rock, DJ Quik, EPMD, Bun B, Grandmaster Caz, DJ Scratch and more. Hosts on the cruise will be Roxanne Shanté and Torae.

While he’s not preparing for the cruise, Ross is establishing new rules when it comes to ballin’. Last week, Biggest Bawse was on his way to a club party when he noticed a man in a cowboy hat and matching attire riding to the same spot on his horse.

Ross wasted no time pulling his phone out to capture the moment and let fans know he was seeing some next-level flexing.

“You ain’t ballin’, you ain’t ballin’, you ain’t said nothing to Rozay till you come to the club on a horse,” Ross said before finding out the horse’s name is Soul. “Her name is Soul, she’s a Rolls-Royce on a roll.”
