Rick Ross has yet to announce plans for a follow-up to Richer Than I Ever Been, but fans may see a new side of Rozay whenever that project arrives.

In a new clip posted to Instagram on Friday (October 28), Rick Ross can be heard saying he “needs honey for his tea” in a rough Patois. Two men who seem more fluent in the Jamaican dialect join in on the banter before the three begin reciting what might be the hook to a song.

Having spent the bulk of his childhood in Miami, Rick Ross is likely no stranger to West Indian culture. Those influences have yet to make it into his music however.

In 2020, Ross did help Skip Marley score a hit with the reggae-tinged R&B track “Make Me Feel,” which also features Ari Lennox. His latest collaboration, an appearance on Nigerian Afropop singer Adekunle Gold’s “5 Star” remix may indicate that Rick Ross is looking to get into his international bag even more.

As he continues to tour in support of his last album, Rick Ross has been keeping busy on the business front. During his Boss Up Conference in September, the Miami mogul announced his first cannabis-adjacent venture: a partnership with Hempacco to launch Hemp Hop Smokables, a product offering hemp cigarettes, smoking paper, and alternatives to nicotine tobacco.

“I truly believe in the health benefits of hemp-derived products,” Ross said in a statement. “Having had my own health scares, and through my healing process, I decided I would develop a line of smokables to help others with the benefits of hemp cannabinoids.”

Earlier this month, the rapper — who has hosted two sold-out car shows at his home outside of Atlanta — revealed that he was in the process of building a museum to house and showcase his car collection. He said that while the collection currently includes 200 vintage and exotic vehicle, he plans on adding another 100 this year.

Once the museum is complete, Rick Ross’ collection will be split between three buildings.

However, not all of 2022 has been lucrative for Ross. In August, five of his Wingstop locations were hit with multiple violations from The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. Rozay was slapped with a $100,000 bill resulting from these issues, which included safety training and background check issues, as well as register shortages and more.

Rozay responded to the fine in an Instagram video. “I want to take time to address something,” he said. “When you running a business, there will be mistakes, but as the Biggest Bawse, you don’t make the same mistakes twice, you see?”

He added: “Taking accountability is big when you the biggest, and remember this, most successful people don’t take stumbling as a setback but actually a stepping stone to greater things, you heard me? Let’s be great.”
