Rich Homie Quan Offers Apology For Butchering The Notorious B.I.G. Lyrics

There would be a lot of pressure on any artist paying tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. and Rich Homie Quan says he let it get to him as he forgot the lyrics to “Get Money” at VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail The Queen. Of course, the Internet was ruthless in its jabs at Rich Homie after the mishap.

The Atlanta rapper apologizes for his performance, which was a tribute to Lil Kim, in an Instagram post. He explains that when he came on stage, he experienced “technical difficulties” and “got nervous.”

“I assure you that I never intended to disrespect Biggie Smalls,” Rich Homie Quan says. “I have long respected his work and his contribution to the rap game. I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans and to New York. The city of New York has been nothing but good to me.”

The “Flex” rapper joined Lil Kim on stage as the program paid tribute to iconic women in Hip Hop. The other honorees were Queen Latifah, Missy Elliott and Salt-N-Pepa.

“I felt honored to stand on stage with artists I grew up listening to,” he continues.

Rich Homie seems sincere enough as he humbly concludes his post.

“I hope you can accept my apology,” he says. “To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity. Rich Homie Baby.”

Lil Kim reposted Rich Homie Quan’s note and said she accepts his apology. She confirmed his claims of the technical difficulties and said she considers him a friend.

“Spoken like a true giant,” she wrote. “I loved you before and I’m gonna love you after Rich Homie. People make mistakes and things happen sometimes that we can’t fix or undo. If you guys only knew the technical difficulties that went on behind the scenes. I would like to thank my friend @richhomiequan for coming through for me at the last minute. It’s all love.”

    1. what the fuck is he talking about? rich homie said “cease and ‘alamo'”. who the fuck is alamo? it’s nino, dumbass. big rolled in his grave during this performance. who’s idea was this anyway?

      1. Yo fam you should apologize also because you fucked up too, it’s “Cease-a-Leo”. Niggaz been listening to niggaz mumble about pandas all fucking day ,now clear rap lingo sounds foreign. #fuckinidiots

        1. NO! It’s not “Cease-A-Leo”…… It’s Cease & Nino!!! So YOU my friend should sit still and be quiet because YOU are just as clueless as Rich Homie was! Have a seat…several of them!

          1. Cease-a-Leo was a nick name for Lil Cease he says the nick name a few times in fact listen to Life after Death track #9 B.I.G. Interlude he says it so clear. Don’t be a dumbass your whole life! #wrongagainstupidass

            1. Yo it’s definitely Cease and Nino…Nino was another member of Junior Mafia…plain and simple

            2. It does sound like cease a Leo but it is cease and Nino as long as we can agree it ain’t no damn Alamo

    2. @justsaying u right its cease a Leo not nino the verse says if u want to sip more on my living room floor play Nintendo with cease a Leo not nino

    3. If that were Drizzy on the mic he’d body the verse, remix it, and by the next day, it’d be number one on iTunes

    4. I only liked one song from Big and that was Notorious Thugs. I only like it because he flowed like Bone. Other than that, I always thought Big had a VERY BAD message in his raps. If Rich Homie Quan or anybody else couldn’t remember his lyrics, then it wouldn’t be a strike against them in my book but actually a hit because BIG rapped about the devil and going to where the devil is when he dies. That’s absurd. Quite frankly, this honor for him was just to please some old heads who are no longer relevant in the new generation. That’s why they chose Rich Homie Quan, because of his following.

      1. Obviously you haven’t listened to any of his songs. BIG use to tell stories in his raps just like Pac. That’s what real hip hop is about.

    5. if it is “cease a leo” then i stand corrected, but i always heard “cease and nino” over the years. at least i know it’s not “cease and alamo” like bitch loser quan said.

    6. I for one being a B I G fan from NY accept his apology. It’s always when you go out of your way to help someone out at the last minute to cover for them that you end up in trouble.

I can relate happened to me at my old brand marketing job, they send you to a store location to promote brand awareness that is not within your region and in just a few hours this cornball asst manager is calling your boss talking spit about you!! knowing damn well you are not supposed to be here and prov will never come back you’re only covering for the normal rep who is sick or on vaca

    7. It’s pretty clear it’s “Cease and Nino” (Brown), another member of Junior Mafia. Don’t know why so many people hear Cease a Leo

    8. Me frofrom Abu dhabi even no Ibiggie words he is great itno tupack he how him no not this word ?nonoGusno he desirve bullit for no noing this words didis no and no write
