Rema had a word for the organizers of J. Cole‘s Dreamville Festival amid major sound issues during his set.
The two-day festival went down on Saturday (April 6) and Sunday (April 7) at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, North Carolina with a star-studded lineup that included the likes of Nicki Minaj, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Lil Yachty, Rae Sremmurd and many more.

The Nigerian Afrobeats artist took the stage on day two, but got quite frustrated as his mic kept going out while he was performing his smash hit, “Calm Down.”
“These sound issues is messing up my whole performance,” he said on stage. “I’m seriously not feeling this shit at all. It’s too messed up. I’m representing Africa. This is too messed up. So the sound cannot be perfect for every artist that gets on this stage and Africa is in the house and y’all messing shit up?”

He then tried to keep going but as the issues continued, he eventually just ended his set and walked off the stage.

Elsewhere at the 2024 Dreamville Festival, 50 Cent used some of his time on stage to participate in his favorite game of late – making fun of Diddy and the federal investigation currently surrounding him.
50 said: “I love you brother, no P. Diddy. I love you…even if you a sex worker.”

There was audible laughter from the crowd, and someone on stage spoke into a microphone, blown away by 50’s audacity: “This n-gga crazy, man,” he said.
50 was a last-minute addition to the show after Chris Brown had to pull out at the last minute due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

Just before the festival kicked off, J. Cole was honored with a new mural in his nearby hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
The huge artwork, which sits on the side of a record store in downtown Fayetteville, was created by New York-based graffiti artist Andaluz The Artist.
It depicts a larger-than-life portrait of the rap star next to the phrase: “Welcome to Fayetteville,” with each letter adorned with images nodding to the city’s history, as well as Cole’s Dreamville label.
Andaluz unveiled the finished mural in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday (April 2), just days before the show.

“Tag J. Cole and let him know I just wrapped up this mural of him in his hometown of Fayetteville NC at @backaroundrecords address: 1 market square Fayetteville, NC,” he wrote.
“I had lots of fun working on this piece. The community was really loving and embracing.”
