Reek Da Villian Explains J. Cole Diss Track, “Strong Island King”

Reek Da Villain released “Strong Island King,” a J. Cole diss, Thursday (August 20). In an interview with ForbezDVD, the Long Island, New York rapper says that he made the song after a friend showed him J. Cole dissing Long Island at a recent stop at Madison Square Garden on the “Forest Hills Drive Tour.”

“A lot of people telling me, ‘Oh, he do that at every show,'” Reek says, “Well, nigga, this right here ain’t, whatever other towns you naming, that ain’t this, nigga. Niggas ain’t joking with this. What the fuck you mean?

“”Niggas go up top, nigga up North and bang with niggas,” he continues, referencing people defending Long Island in New York, “and really go hard to make sure this shit is respected, nigga. I ain’t never let no nerd nigga play this shit.”

    J. Cole was telling the crowd how he moved from North Carolina to New York to pursue his music career. He then told a story of how a Long Island rapper was begging him on Twitter to listen to his music.

“He like, ‘Yo, J. Cole, please, click my shit,'” he says. “‘I’m the hottest nigga in Long Island, bro. I promise you, click my shit. It’s my soundcloud link. I promise you, my nigga, I’m not gonna let you down. I got what Dreamville needs. Click the shit, please.’ Then I finally click the shit and it’s the worst shit I’ve ever heard in my fucking life. It’s fucking terrible. I’m offended at how bad this nigga’s shit is. I want my 27 seconds back that I just gave him to play this fucking song.”

Reek’s diss track starts with a recording of Cole’s remarks. The song then calls the Dreamville founder a “studio thug,” references Cole’s fight with Puff Daddy, and disses Cole’s “Wet Dreamz” track where he discusses losing his virginity. Another jab addresses J. Cole as a lightskin rapper.

“I try to brush it off, but I can’t take it / See, this what happens when you let a house nigga off the plantation / Fuck you talking ’bout little bitch boy? You bitch man / Typa bitch I’ll stab with a six-blade, my six spray,” he raps.

Reek says in the interview that he likes Cole’s music and that he would come after any rapper who disses his hometown. He says that a lot of people in Long Island weren’t happy with the North Carolina rapper’s remarks, but Reek says he is the man to be the spokesperson.

“There’s so many diss records towards that nigga right now,” he says. “I can’t even count ’em. I ain’t even gonna front, though. A lot of the shit’s wack as hell. I’m glad they can’t hear ’em because niggas will embarrass us. Just fall back y’all. Let me do this shit. Like, chill. You niggas aren’t even on that nigga level, but I am. Do your research. I’m from that cloth.”

He says that he is ready for J. Cole to make a comeback to the diss track.

“I hope he respond,” Reek says. “I want him to respond because it’s Hip Hop, nigga. I’m ready for it. I’m not one of these new niggas.”

    1. this dude want to blow so bad..he like”yea jcole please respond so people will listen to me” what a joke smh

    2. I guess Reek was the rapper begging J Cole to listen to his shit, otherwise he would be getting upset for someone else. He didn’t get his shine when he was rolling with Busta and Flipmode, so now, he resorts to one of the oldest tricks in the book: diss one of the hottest rappers out to get noticed.

    3. This industry is getting so wack. Everybody wanna do a bio pic or diss someone to.get some attention. Go make some real music you fools!

    4. I see why Busta stop rocking with this guy; he comes off like a snake. When Busta was signed to Cash Money with his Conglomerate label and Reek was apart of it. When that deal went sour and Buss got off the label. Reek went behind his back and started rocking with Birdman’s “Rich Gang” shingle. He even put out a record/video that featured Ace Hood and Kend rock Laman without Buss permission and Buss put a cease and desist on that. Now he’s getting at J. COLE, about the diss Jermaine said when he was being honest. He even disses all the rappers who responded to Cole, saying their disses are wack. He comes off a bitter, disgruntled mad rapper, No D.Dot Ha

    5. 1) The rappers you named are certified.
      2) why don’t you spotlight the cat that was wack.
      3) You shouldn’t have to tell someone to google you.
      4) Why is there such a long interview with side niggas co-signing instead of the actual song?

    6. I didn’t even know who this guy was tbh
Why not focus all that energy into making good music I’m not even gonna listen to the track cuzit seems like he just piggybacking another man’s fame. Hip hop beef is so whack these days

    7. Why the fuck would you even give this dude the time of day? I saw Cole in Austin and he made the same joke, just said “Austin” instead of “Long Island”.

    8. cole please listen to my song.heres some lyrics: fuck wat they say,i know u gay/u been taking it up da ass/u product of white trash

    9. Hey Cole please listen to my Rap huh please!!!
OK, Fuck J Cole and his forest hill drive/while you were driving on hills we were running the town nigga swallow your pride/ you seem to forget where you came from/look who’s talking, the nigga that sucked Nas’ dick on a show me pity song/”it was hard to understand”, one thing I understand is that your dick was hard under your pants/ you gay as bitch/ you came from the same circumstances, you made it and suddenly turned snitch/ so please click on my shit, I’m the hottest nigga around/ I can prove that on any day even with your fuckin new album against my “wack track” on soundcloud.

    10. Just saw J. Cole in Dallas and he old the exact same story about a dude from Dallas. It’s a show. It’s not a real story. This dude is a fucking idiot.

    11. im sure cole all hurt by being called a nerd, uhhh if thats all he said, it wasnt a LI diss, cole knows his hiphop history, he aint gonna dis LI.

      1. He did diss LI by insinuating LI dudes front like theyre from BK to sound hard.

He doesnt understand or, if anything, respect the social dynamics of NYC.

    12. Reek da WHO????? Clown ain’t nobod ever heard of you and tryng to dis Cole in order to get some shine is about as lame as that wack a$$ track was. I’m guessing you the dude that was begging Cole to listen to his demo?

      1. Just cuz u Dnt kno him Dnt mean shit but u Dnt know hip-hop.he’s a pro he’s not working at the 711 wit ya bumass

    13. See…the funny thing is, Cole made this SAME joke in D.C., but instead of saying Long Island he said “Aye, I’m the hottest thing in the DMV!” “But he’s really from Maryland”. He makes this joke everywhere, it just depends on the city. Reek got butt hurt and took it personally.

    14. So Word on the Blog is that J.Cole Goes to ALL of Yall Cities and at Every Show He Calls Out Unsigned artist from yall town or neighboring towns and yall let that shit Rock.. smh Yall Worse Than I Thought..
