Lil Cray has been charged with bribery after allegedly offering deputies $35,000 to not arrest him earlier this month, Cleveland.com reports.
The 19-year-old rapper, born Crayshaun Bates, allegedly offered authorities cash or property as many as a dozen times after he was found drunk, which violated the terms of his bond from attempted murder and gang charges he is facing. He is also charged with underage drinking from the incident.
Lil Cray offered the money because he knew the judge would revoke his bond if he was arrested. His bond was in fact revoked after a hearing on January 17 and he has been in jail since.
The rapper’s arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday and his trial for the attempted murder and gang charges is to begin February 6.
