Rapper Swagg Huncho Killed In St. Louis

3 Problems member Swagg Huncho killed in St. Louis, Missouri. James Johnson Jr., who goes by the rap name Swagg Huncho, was shot and killed while in St. Louis’ JeffVanderLou neighborhood, earlier this week.

XXLMag.com reports that Huncho, who hailed from Ferguson, Missouri, was shot at least twice in the head by an unknown person.

News of the musician’s death comes after he reportedly approached James Clark, the Vice President of Community Outreach for Better Family Life about joining the social service organization’s “We Must Stop Killing Each Other” campaign.

“The rappers now have to look in the mirror and say, ‘hey guys, we are losing too many loved ones and family members. We are losing our friends,’” Clark said, XXLMag.com reports.

Earlier this year, another member of 3 Problems plead guilty to a second-degree murder charge.

In a feature story released in May, which was titled “Hot Rhymes in a Hard Place: Meet the Teen Hip-Hop Heroes of 3 Problems,” the group was profiled by Rolling Stone.

The author of the story touched on the group “blowing up in St. Louis” while also coping with the reality of having one of its members in prison. In Rolling Stone’s story, Huncho was described as being “instantly relatable, exuding charisma” and the ringleader of the group.

A suspect in the shooting death of Swagg Huncho has yet to be identified.
