Although recognized often for his emcee abilities, Queens, New York’s Q-Tip is an accomplished producer for Mobb Deep, Nas and his years with A Tribe Called Quest. Today the Universal Motown artist announced that he will produce Jazz bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding’s next album.
Spalding, a Portland, Oregon native, has released three solo albums, as well as work with Jazz veteran, Stanley Clarke and popular Folk artist, M. Ward.

Previously, Q-Tip has worked with another Jazz vocalist, Norah Jones, on his 2008 solo album, The Renaissance.
She is dope (and fine too!) I knew she was a hip hop head at heart! That’s a good look for him.
Featuring Norah on his album is nothing compared to producing Esparanza’s new project, so much so that it’s not worth mentioning!
