“There’s been more mass shootings (200) than days of the year (128) #GunControlNow,” his tweet read. He captioned the post by using the same hashtag as his tweet.

Q-Tip’s plea comes just days after a mass shooting occurred at a mall in Allen, Texas. According to HuffPost, a 33-year-old far-right gunman opened fire, killing eight people. He also died at the scene.

The deadliest mass shooting this year took place in Monterey Park, California in January, where a 72-year-old man killed 11 people at a dance studio after a Lunar New Year celebration.

According to The Guardian, the U.S. is seeing on average more than one mass killing a week in 2023, which is on pace to become the worst year for mass shootings in the nation’s history.

In other Q-Tip-related news, LL COOL released a new single last week called “The Force” which was produced by the A Tribe Called Quest legend.

The track, which LL debuted on Rock The Bells Radio, serves as the first preview of his upcoming 14th studio album, which will be produced entirely by Tip.

“The Force” borrows sonic elements from Q-Tip’s 1999 Amplified cut “End of Time” and lists the late, great Michael Jackson as a co-songwriter.

Q-Tip also recently received his flowers from singer H.E.R. regarding the amount of music he’s introduced her to.

“I don’t know who I relate to the most, but one of my favorite rappers of all time is Q-Tip,” she said in an interview with The Source. “I actually got to meet him one time and he put me onto so much music. And I didn’t realize how much music he was inspired by outside of Hip Hop.

“He to me just focuses on having fun with the music and making people feel something without kind of trying. Just kind of being him.”
