Q-Tip has called for stricter gun control in the United States while sharing a startling statistic about the tragic mass shootings that have taken place in 2023 so far.
On Monday (May 9), the Abstract posted a screenshot on Instagram of a tweet he shared about the heart-wrenching trend of gun violence.
“There’s been more mass shootings (200) than days of the year (128) #GunControlNow,” his tweet read. He captioned the post by using the same hashtag as his tweet.
Q-Tip’s plea comes just days after a mass shooting occurred at a mall in Allen, Texas. According to HuffPost, a 33-year-old far-right gunman opened fire, killing eight people. He also died at the scene.
The deadliest mass shooting this year took place in Monterey Park, California in January, where a 72-year-old man killed 11 people at a dance studio after a Lunar New Year celebration.
According to The Guardian, the U.S. is seeing on average more than one mass killing a week in 2023, which is on pace to become the worst year for mass shootings in the nation’s history.
In other Q-Tip-related news, LL COOL released a new single last week called “The Force” which was produced by the A Tribe Called Quest legend.
The track, which LL debuted on Rock The Bells Radio, serves as the first preview of his upcoming 14th studio album, which will be produced entirely by Tip.
“The Force” borrows sonic elements from Q-Tip’s 1999 Amplified cut “End of Time” and lists the late, great Michael Jackson as a co-songwriter.
Q-Tip also recently received his flowers from singer H.E.R. regarding the amount of music he’s introduced her to.
“I don’t know who I relate to the most, but one of my favorite rappers of all time is Q-Tip,” she said in an interview with The Source. “I actually got to meet him one time and he put me onto so much music. And I didn’t realize how much music he was inspired by outside of Hip Hop.
“He to me just focuses on having fun with the music and making people feel something without kind of trying. Just kind of being him.”
Says the guy with armed security. Isn’t it weird that everyone who calls immediately for “gun control” are rich and have security? Do you think their guards are going to give up their guns; or at the very least have any good ideas? The answer is emphatically no. If you don’t want to have guns, you are more than welcome to give up your own. Don’t try to dictate that to other Americans who are responsible gun owners.
something like 80% of americans are for stronger gun laws. not just the rich with security.
This is the dumbest take on anything I’ve ever read
According to what exactly? A poll that asks 1,000 people of their opinions? But yeah, I guess plenty of people are stupid, and think stricter gun laws will stop killers from doing horrible things. I’m sure a mass murderer will totally follow a law to only legally obtain a firearm. Neveermind the fact that first off, most mass shootings are gangsters shooting gangsters, not inncoent people… or the fact that 52 out of 54 of the other mass shooters were actively taking legally prescribed psychoactive drugs for mental disorders. Pretty sure it’s common sense not to sell guns to people who take psychoactive drugs, but they background checks would be called discriminatory, as no Trans people would be able to own a firearm. If we enforced the laws we have currently and didn’t let those who show OBVIOUS signs of severe mental instability purchase guns, we’d likely have less issues. And at the end of the day, wanting more security isn’t a reason to infringe upon our God given rights to bear arms.
You’re not telling the whole story. 80% of Libs support “gun control”. Men who support gun control have wives who have boyfriends.
This is according to 80% of democrats. You are being disingenuous. This stat is from ABC news. Hardly a bastion for conservatism.
Why?
Start with Chicago. Bring back stop and frisk and RICO the shit outta the street gangs. I bet the gun violence will go down.
You Russian bots always use the same verbiage.
“Everyone with common sense is a Russian bot”. If you discount suicide and thug on thug crime, violence isn’t neat 1% of the deaths of drugs. The real mass killer is fentanyl, and it’s killing 9/11 amounts of peolle every 2 weeks.
How is his revelation shocking? If anybody read the news or kept up on what’s going on in the world today, they would already know. But in his defense, at least he’s informing the blinded by tiktok/other social media masses that are fans that only concentrate on wanting to spread their egos for views on the platforms.
Guns ain’t the real problem. America has a real mental health issue that needs to be addressed. People will always find a way to kill unfortunately. Criminals especially. But the mental health is the real issue.
I’m a black veteran, I dare anyone try and take my guns

When everybody can have a gun we call it war in Europe. Fuck guns and the weapon industry.
We have a Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
The 1912 Fall Sears Catalog advertised 1 semi-automatic shotgun, 3 semi-automatic rifles, and 8 semi-automatic handguns for sale through mail order with no background checks and no questions asked.
How many mass-shootings were there in 1912? Any mass-shootings in schools in 1912?
“The deadliest mass shooting this year took place in Monterey Park, California in January…”
California has the highest infringements on our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. So how could they have a mass-shooting?
Vermont has amount the least infringements on our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms including the right to carry a firearm without a permit. How many mass-shootings have there been in Vermont in the last ten years?
