Pusha T is currently recording for his G.O.O.D. Music debut, but he explains that the process hasn’t been easy. Speaking with Beats By Dre, the Clipse member spoke on how demanding Kanye West and his G.O.O.D. family can be.
“G.O.O.D. Music got the whips out, you under the gun. Like, ‘Get this right. You gon’ do this 90 times and it’s gon’ be right before we put it out,’” he said. “You think you wrote a masterpiece, and he’s like, oh, you can come a little harder than that.”
His recording process with Clipse partner and brother Malice is a little easier. “It’s a totally different process. Me and my brother, it’s like a no pressure game. It’s like, OK, we have beats, we’re both going to take our time and write four bars and we call each other and be like, ‘This is what I said,’ and he’ll be like, ‘Nah, this is what I said.’ Let me get another two bars together and get this right. It’s a whole little back and forth, just listening to each other process.”
The Virginia Beach, Virginia native noted that Common is the only G.O.O.D. Music member with which he hasn’t recorded, but revealed a high profile collaboration with Kanye and Jeezy for his upcoming Fear of God 2 mixtape, as well as a track with Tyler, The Creator and another with Tyler and Hodgy Beats. He also explained that he wouldn’t make it on Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne, but that he promises it’s going to be worth the wait.
“I’m not going to make the Watch the Throne album. I haven’t been summoned for that. I wish I was. But I have heard it, and Watch the Throne is going to be a gem. I think people are going to be really happy with it.”

I may have to try that way of writing rhymes…4 bars @ a time. GOOD Music in the building!
Pusha seemed like…sad. in the interview. Like everythings not what hes expecting it to be.
I hate bashing other niggas but I wish G.O.O.D. Music would replace Big Sean with Kendrick Lamar. Sorry my nigga!
lmao that would be a good move! for kendrick at least
Good music is batting like .10 percent for the last 5 yrs when it comes to releasing Good music.
It’s sad that the way they talk about G.O.O.D. Music makes it seem like they have no control over any decision at all. So far I’ve noticed that from every artist signed to G.O.O.D. Music. They all seem like they have no say about anything.
On the real, almost none of these artists have any control over their own projects. Sad but thats why these independent guys make so much money, they cater to the fans. We literally won’t see a classic in todays climate from a major label because they are trying to sell a album to a 10yr old white girl in Wyoming instead of the 50,000+ hip hop heads.
Well we dont really want ANY features on Watch The Throne, so dont feel bad pusha
Bitch ass nigga Jay-Z prolly prevented Pusha from appearin on Watch The Throne. Illuminati cumguzzlah.
pushas taken shots at jay a couple times…of course hes not gunna be “summoned” for that
