Pusha T has remixed Melle Mel‘s classic “White Lines (Don’t Do It)” for the new movie Cocaine Bear.

With the Virginia rapper being well-known for rapping about cocaine, it’s no surprise a film about a bear going on a cocaine rampage would recruit him for the soundtrack.

Released on Friday (February 24), the track finds Pusha T rapping in line with the plot about a duffle bag of cocaine dropping out of an airplane and being discovered by a bear.

“You heard the pilot lost the load, call that dumb and dumber/ It’s no storm without thunder, the bear crawls up and under/ Cocaine overload, the only fuel to his hunger,” he raps.

Melle Mel’s original “White Lines (Don’t Do It)” was released in 1983 on Sugar Hill Records. The song reached No. 47 on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart, but it was an even bigger hit in the UK, where it peaking at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart and went on to be the 13th best-selling single of 1984.

“‘White Lines’ is a record about the use and abuse of cocaine,” Melle Mel explained in a 1984 interview. “But it is good that people know that when they do get high — I can’t tell people what to do — but at least when they do it, they know that they doing the wrong thing to their body and as far as society and whatnot.

“So that’s why we made the record, you know, in good faith. It’s a real touchy subject, but somebody had to do it, so we did it.”

Cocaine Bear hit theaters on Friday and stars Keri Russell, Ice Cube‘s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Isiah Whitlock Jr., as well as Ray Liotta in one of his final roles before his death.

The movie is loosely inspired by the events of an American black bear dying after ingesting cocaine that fell out of an airplane in December 1985.

Coincidentally, the pilot — a former narcotics officer and convicted drug smuggler — was called Andrew C. Thornton II, sharing the same surname as Pusha T (whose government name is Terrence Thornton).

“I love this movie!!” he wrote. “I never knew the human brain can think like this and put it on film. What would you do if you ran into a bear on cocaine? Omg. I’ll plead for forgiveness. ‘I’m so sorry yogi bear. Please don’t scratch me’ lol. Y’all have to see this thriller.”

“I’m watching it again next week cuz I don’t remember any other movie that had me chuckling throughout a whole hour and 30 minutes like this one did, PLEASE go and see it or rent/stream it when it’s ready! And RIP Ray Liotta.”
