Although hip hop heads can expect Project Pat’s new album ‘Layin The Smackdown’ will be in stores in late November, promotion on the album will be very limited.
Project Pat, a member of the down south crew three six mafia, was sentenced June 11, 2002 in a federal court, to four years in jail for a two felony weapons charge dating back to an arrest in January of 2001. Pat was originally pulled over by Tennessee police for excessive speeding while driving in his SUV. Once police pulled him over they discovered two non-registered guns under his seat. Initially, his first trial was tried in Memphis, Tennessee on these charges, but the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Prosecutors decided to move the second trial to Jackson, Tennessee where the jury was able to reach a guilty verdict.
Upon his release from jail Pat will be assigned three years of supervised probation, a fine of $75,000 and will be ordered to pay $200 in court fees. Three Six Mafia fan’s can also stay alert for Pat’s brother Juicy J’s new album ‘Chronicles Of The Juice Man’ in stores this July.
