Prodigy Announces Two Books Based On His Prison Experiences

Prodigy is slated to release two books in 2016, he announced via a press release yesterday (December 21). The Mobb Deep rapper will be teaming up with writer Kathy Iandoli for the projects, which will be based on his prison experiences.

The first book, Commissary Kitchen, is to be “part cookbook, part anecdotal storybook” and explore the living conditions of prisons. In 10 chapters, Prodigy will tell stories with each meal from his struggles with balancing his diet with sickle cell anemia to witnessing the emotional stress of being imprisoned during the holidays.

The other title, The State vs. Albert “Prodigy” Johnson, is described as an overall narrative of Prodigy’s time in Middle State Prison Facilities. In 2007, he was sentenced to three and a half years in prison after pleading guilty to gun possession. This book will chronicle his experience in the system and its effect on his career.

Both releases are scheduled to be available in the second half of 2016.

    1. how you gonna make 2 books outta a measly 3 yr sentence…what can you possibly talk about? I think he might be coming up outta that closet

    2. I’m pretty sure this dude was in protective custody for his well documented sickle cell illness so just curious to know what these two great long awaited books will be all about. Maybe one of the title should be readers guide on how to protect your butthole i guess. FOH

      1. TOP 5 WHAT ?

If your saying top 5rap group then yes mobb deep should be in the top 5 rap group of all time but if your saying top 5 doa rapper I say hell no and i’m a prodigy fan. First H.N.I.C is a classic hands down but he doesn’t have enough under his belt as a solo act to even be considered top 5 maybe top 10 and that’s a stretch

      2. A 2 person group is that u get reviewed as a solo act escpecially if ur the one in the group whos legendary havs dope too tho and one of the best producers and dude in the 90s was one of the illest i prolly put p right at 5 or number 6
