Pop Smoke’s Alleged Killer Admits He’s Not Sorry Rapper Died But Wishes It Never Happened

Pop Smoke‘s murder made its way back to headlines last week when one of his killers was released from custody; and now that has raised more eyebrows with his first interview.

In an interview clip posted to Instagram by No Jumper on Friday (July 5), Blockstar — who was just 15 years old at the time of the 2020 murder — tells Adam22 that he doesn’t regret anything about the incident.

“I’m not sorry about nothing,” Blockstar stated. “It should’ve never happened, but I ain’t sorry. If I could go back, I’d go back. But I ain’t sorry. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] was rapping about it. All types of stuff. So, I ain’t sorry about it.

“I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret nothing. Growing up, my people, my family told me, ‘You ain’t sorry for nothing. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and stand on it.’”

The youngest of the four men charged in the killing of Pop Smoke (born Bashar Jackson), Blockstar was released from juvenile detention last week after serving a four-year sentence, which TMZ reports was handed down as part of a plea deal in 2023.

Shortly after his release, footage emerged of the young man attempting to cut off an ankle monitor.

The No Jumper interview comes as a bit of the twist, as the outlet found itself at odds with Blockstar for posting that footage.

According to Hot97, he accused the controversial outlet of “exploiting his name and story for their own benefit.” Blockstar didn’t make similar accusations against any other outlet.

Late last month, Corey Walker — the only person charged as an adult for Pop Smoke’s murder — received a new trial date after he failed to agree a plea deal with prosecutors.

Walker’s lawyer Deion Benjamin told Rolling Stone: “Negotiations fell through. But there’s still a possibility we’ll come to an agreement. A few things need to be ironed out. If they don’t get resolved, we’ll go to trial.”

If no plea deal is agreed, jury selection for the trial will go ahead on August 6. It was previously scheduled to begin this week.

Walker is the only suspect to still have his fate decided by the legal system.

A 15-year-old previously admitted to pulling the trigger and fatally shooting Pop Smoke during a home invasion in the Hollywood Hills in February 2020.

Tried in juvenile court because of his age, he also admitted to a home invasion robbery charge as well as personally and intentionally discharging a firearm during the crime. He is expected to be held in a state juvenile facility until the age of 25.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge J. Christopher Smith told the defendant, along with his 19-year-old co-defendant, that Pop Smoke “lost his life over no good reason.”

“You have no right to take somebody’s life. You have no right to take somebody’s property,” said Smith.

    1. look at the trash and garbage they promote. and pop smoke was supposed to be “gang” – the fuck is this dude still walking around for?

      1. Doesn’t mean he deserves to be killed! Alot of these dudes talk bout that life, they use that platform to better themselves & their family!

    2. But don’t be out here standing on shit that you know is detrimental…I do understand standing on your actions, but….

    3. He’s not sorry that Pop Smoke died, but wishes it never happened. So in essence he’s not really remorseful.

    4. So he was brainwashed by his family to not feel or be sorry for his actions? That boy grew up in a toxic environment. He’s a terrible human being though.

      1. I’m sure his mother and family regrets him. He’s saying sorry with everything else he says…dumb little fuk. I hate that Pop died. These damn haters

    5. These weirdo white boys like Vlad and Adam love giving worthless pieces of shit infamy and a platform 🤣 He’s slow, he’s dumb, and he does not have a bright future. He does not need a microphone to talk that mushmouth n!gga shit 🤣

      1. Those weirdo white boys didn’t hold a gun to HIM and make him do an interview. Yes he is dumb and a total waste of space but he put himself in the mainstream when he did what he did.

      2. Yeah these white boys are definitely capitalizing off ignorant azz negros..fake gangstes run to master and tell, for a few dollars ,the snitch on themselves indict themselves, and thats gangsta?
Meanwhile the white man gets paid off All of that

      3. @ Any news: Adam’s gay ass gave him a platform. Which was Adam’s choice to capitalize with views. He couldve had some integrity and say no, this isnt a healthy conversation. So metaphorically speaking, they DID put a gun to his head bc an ignorant street n!gga isnt gonna say no to camera time.

      1. Same thing I said. Not wishing death upon him, but with an attitude as his, nothing good will come behind it. I can’t even fathom the nerves he have to even go live and publicly said such…..

    6. He should’ve been shocked to death. The scum that he is. Cold-blooded killers like dude roam these streets. He lives with no regret. The justice system failed Pop Smoke.

    7. Ignorance is a MF. Too caught up on trying to look like a savage. U can see remorse in his eyes but he too stupid to man up and admit it cuz he gon look soft to his hood and family. He need to just off himself before the streets do.

    8. Bruh them Crips got a big hit out on this kid he’ll be dead soon so no need for regrets it’s all coming back in blood

    9. How awkward to have repped Crip and then to have been taken out by Crip? Gang life ain’t worth it. Just saying.

    10. He’s right, it should have never happened, and yet those BUMS killed him for no reason anyway. He better hope nobody cares about Pop Smoke enough to touch him. Nobody slid for King Von, so there’s a chance.
