Polo G is celebrating after his lawyer successfully got the gun charges related to his April arrest in New York dismissed.
Taking to his Instagram Story on Monday (December 9), the Chicago rapper shared a screenshot of a conversation with his attorney, who shared the good news.
“congratulations! i just got off the record in front of the judge! your case is dismissed and sealed!” the text read.
Over the screenshot, Polo added, “Beat my gun case in NYC. Shout out to my lawyer Stacey Richmond [heart emojis]”
Back in April, the New York Post reported Polo G was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a firearm as well as criminal possession of a weapon in the Manhattan Criminal Court.

The issue stemmed from a stay at the Dominick Hotel in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of SoHo, during which a maid found a loaded Glock with 10 bullets in his room. Authorities were subsequently alerted about the piece.
“This man is 100% serious in terms of his work, in terms of his professionalism,” the Chicago native’s attorney said while making a case for him being spared from bail. “He has absolutely no incentive to flee because he has a career he’s built.”
Contrarily, prosecutors argued that the “Finer Things” hitmaker is at flight risk given his past criminal record, which includes arrests for kidnapping, assault and robbery. Judge Kevin McGrath ultimately settled on a cash bail for $25,000 and set a court date.
Months later in October, Polo G was once again arrested – this time in Los Angeles after police allegedly found a gun in his car when he was pulled over for speeding in the San Fernando Valley.

Polo (real name Taurus Tremani Bartlett) was then taken in and booked for felony possession of a concealed weapon.
The 25-year-old was eventually released from jail days later, per the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department website.
The reason for his release was listed as Section 849(b)(1) of the California Penal Code, which states: “The officer is satisfied that there are insufficient grounds for making a criminal complaint against the person arrested.”
