Paul Wall‘s newest album The Great Wall has officially arrived, and the Houston legend offers up some motivation for the hustlers on its latest single, “Airplane Mode.”
Released with the album on Friday (December 15), “Airplane Mode” finds the People’s Champ reminding listeners to focus in and practice tunnel vision when navigating through life as he reflects on his own journey to the top.

“I got my mind on my bank account, big paper in large amounts/Stacking all my crypto up, coins that I can’t pronounce,” he raps. “I’m a hold-the-investment type, big ape gotta stay down/Moon shots, no room for thots.”
The Great Wall serves as Wall’s fourteenth studio album and first solo project in two years. The 13-track effort features appearances from fellow Texans Bun B, Lil Keke and That Mexican OT.
Paul Wall has been a staple in Hip Hop since 1998, but the Houston rap legend’s name apparently doesn’t ring as many bells with Gen Z as he does with older fans.
Fortunately, Wall isn’t afraid to take unsuspecting music fans to school, which is exactly what he did over the summer when a Twitter user asked who the “Sittin’ Sidewayz” rapper was.

Wall’s response was firm but respectful. “I’m a rapper from Texas,” he wrote in his quote-tweet response. “Along with my music, I’m known for selling Grillz with my partner @JohnnyDangandCo also known for my community work, and love for Houston sports teams. Nice to meet you.”

As of late, the seasoned lyricist is sporting more of a salt and pepper look – and it’s so different that even his biggest fans were left doing a double take after he debuted it.
In a video posted to TikTok in September, the Texas rap legend looked almost unrecognizable as he sported a full head of silver hair and matching beard — a far cry from his buzz cut and soul patch that was seen in classic videos like “Still Tippin’” and “Sittin’ Sidewayz.”
