Although they are preparing for their spotlight on the ‘Smoking Grooves’ tour, Outkast is working on a video for their song “Land of a Million Drums” for the new Scooby Doo soundtrack. The video, which will be set in a haunted house party, will have guest appearances by Killer Mike and Sleepy Brown. “The soundtrack supervisors contacted us and said ‘We want ya’ll to be a part of the project, so come check out the film to see if you see a part where a song would fit the scene”, Dre said. “And we had a couple of songs we were working on at the time, and we tried to pick which songs we were working on at the time, and we tried to pick a song which would be good for the movie, and ‘Land of a Million Drums’ came to mind”.
Dre and Big Boi also plan on releasing a new album, comic book and a film no later than next year. “It’s too early right now to get in-depth about it, but it should be hitting the big screens beginning next year. It’s not gonna sound the same at all from what you’ve heard before”, Dre 3000 said. Expect the unexpected.
