Nigerian rapper Oladips has died at the age of 28 following years of personal “battles,” as revealed by his team.
Oladips (real name Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji) passed away on Tuesday (November 14) according to a post shared on his Instagram account by his team. No cause of death was given.

“We are saddened to inform the general public that Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji aka OLADIPS has passed away yesterday Nov’14 Tuesday evening at exactly 10:14 pm,” the management team wrote. “We are still in shock as we speak.
“For over 2 years he has kept his battles within himself, his body is now with his family & funeral services will be announced as soon as it is concluded! The family asked that we respect their privacy in this trying time. May God give us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.(amen).”

Friends, fans and music peers had an outpouring of support for Oladips while grieving the sudden loss of the rapper.
“Nahh!! No now, weytin con dey inside life gan gan,” Big Brother star Hermes Iyele wrote. “May God grant the family the grace to carry this grief.”

A fan added: “If not for God I would also be dead tonight’s some demons attacked me but God save me. Give your life to Christ to be safe when you sleep at nite. Rest in peace oladips.”
Another said: “This is can’t be true…… I’m still in fear but I can’t believe yet!”
Oladips’ first posthumous release will come with Superhero Adugbo (The Memoir) on Thursday (November 16). The project boasts 17 tracks including the eeriely titled single “Die Young.”
Last year, he unleashed his Ajala EP and is best known for his feature on T. Dollar’s “Our Father.”

Dips kept busy throughout 2023 with a ton of singles like “Right Path,” “Omoshalewa,” Imagination,” “Ire,” “If I Wasn’t Nigerian,” “Conversation With The Reaper” and more.
Oladips rose through the ranks and broke through to gain notoriety as a winner of Nigeria’s The King Is Here competition music competition in 2015. He stood out among the 8,000 contestants and won the opportunity to collaborate with D’banj.
