Ol’ Dirty Bastard‘s son has given credit to RZA who became a confidant to the drill rapper after his father passed away nearly two decades ago.

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Weather Park discussed the role the Wu Tang Clan leader has played in his life and how his presence has helped him navigate life’s challenges since his father transitioned in 2004.

“I would call RZA and just ask him questions about anything like meditation, thinking, breathing skills, just things to keep the mental health in order,” Weather Park said. “As we both know, I lost my dad. So without my dad, I would say that I had to figure out a lot of things on my own. But having a great mind like RZA just available to speak to me is super helpful to my life. Just keeping my head on the swivel, even though I was maybe facing things that an average person from New York City is facing.”

He continued: “I applaud him for even being in my life, even if it was at its littlest degree. I applaud him for it because the time that he took just to talk to me was enough to let me go back and read a book, you know what I mean? And not just because I’m around the Abbot. It’s more about I have to continuously be teaching myself something.

“So I don’t know, I guess that’s the perfect way to word it. Yeah, just very impactful. I would say his relationship in my life is very impactful.”

ODB’s son previously talked about his relationship with Bobby Digital in an interview with Montreality in 2014.

“RZA put me under his wing when I was like 17,” he said at the time. “He took me on tour and that’s how I really came close to all the Wu-Tang Clan members. It was like being in a wolf pack on the tour bus with everybody teaching you everything. They teach you how to smoke weed. You know that’s Wu-Tang. Method Man smoke a lot of weed.”

RZA is getting his well-deserved flowers from many people these days, including Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who named their first child after him.

The Daily Mail got its hands on the baby’s birth certificate earlier this month, revealing his name to be RZA Athelston Mayers. It also said he was born May 13 at 10:58 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Being named after a legendary Hip Hop artist runs in the family, as Rocky previously revealed he was named after the rapper Rakim.

Rih and Rocky’s family will soon grow to welcome one more. While a due date hasn’t been revealed, the Bajan superstar was sporting a substantial bump when she performed at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in February – which would mean she was already a few months along.

“Oh my God, it’s legendary,” she said of her first nine months as a mother. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.

She continued: “You literally try to remember it – and there are photos of my life before – but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far because… because it doesn’t matter.”
