Nicki Minaj is set to star in a new animated comic book series called Lady Dangerous, which is being executive produced by 50 Cent.

Based on the Dark Horse comic book series of the same name, the Amazon Freevee show is set in 2075 and follows a government field agent who’s left for dead by her team after discovering a dangerous secret, before being resurrected as Lady Danger.

She’s described as an “an afrofuturistic ass-kicking Agent of B.O.O.T.I (Bureau of Organized Terrorism Intervention),” who must hide her identity while fighting villains that are destroying the earth and its vulnerable inhabitants.

Deadline reports Nicki Minaj is also executive producing the series alongside 50 Cent, Brian Sher, Paul Young and Mike Griffin. Alex de Campi wrote the original comic book series, with Carlton Jordan and Crystle Roberson adapting it for TV.

This is far from the first time Minaj has secured an acting role, having previously voiced the character Pinky in The Angry Birds Movie 2 in 2019. She also appeared in 2014’s Ice Age: Continental Drift, 2012’s The Other Woman and 2016’s Barbershop: The Next Cut.

50 Cent has been full of praise for Nicki Minaj in the past, and recently revealed he likes seeing her “upset” when it comes to being competitive in her music career.

He continued: “When [Cardi B] and Nicki clash, I go, ‘Oh, shit, it’s going to be interesting to watch how it plays out.’ Lyrically, I won’t say anything competitively about the two of them, but I love Nicki.

“I don’t have anything against Cardi. I think anyone who comes now, she is going to check their temperature. Nicki is going to check if this bitch is friendly or looking to take over the shit.”
