Keke Palmer used her stop on The Tonight Show earlier this week to show off a shockingly on-point Nicki Minaj impression and to share a kind story about getting advice from the Pinkprint diva — and got a (joking) threat of a cease-and-desist letter in return.
Palmer was on the show on Tuesday (November 19). During her appearance, she recalled getting advice from Nicki during the Met Gala.

“She’s like, ‘Look, I don’t read the press. I don’t know everything that’s going on,'” Palmer began, dropping into an extremely accurate Minaj voice when doing the rapper’s dialogue.
“‘But I just want to tell you, nobody knows what it’s like when we turn off the lights and we gotta be with ourselves. So you do whatever you need to do to be good with you.'”

While host Jimmy Fallon and the studio audience loved the advice, Nicki responded with a post on X, saying that she was worried that the story of her giving helpful tips would ruin her reputation.
“Why would she even tell that story? doesn’t she know that could mess up the whole ‘bad guy’ thing?” Nicki wrote. “Let’s see if she still laughin when she get hit w/that cease & desist chi.”

She signed the note “the bad guy Chun-Ki…ki…”

Earlier this month, Nicki announced something a bit more in character: a new deluxe edition of her chart-topping 2023 album, Pink Friday 2.
Minaj released two extended editions of PF2 earlier this year, then announced plans for an official deluxe over the summer. But weeks later, she decided to scrap the idea and turn it into a whole new album instead.
It seems she’s gone back to her original plan, however, and revealed in a post to X in early November that Pink Friday 2 – The Hiatus will arrive on December 13.
“The final deluxe installment,” she wrote. “On the 1 year Anniversary of PF2.”

The mention of hiatus in the title also seems to speak to Minaj telling fans in October that she was planning to take a break following the conclusion of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. She later walked the announcement back and denied any hiatus, but much like now doing a deluxe, it’s possible she’s also reverting to the original plan on that as well.
