Released on Friday (July 21), Barbie: The Movie raked in a whopping $155 million its first three days – making for the biggest opening weekend from a female director in history.

Coinciding with the film’s release, the soundtrack titled Barbie: The Album dropped the same day, and also features Lizzo, Dua Lipa, The Kid LAROI and more. However, “Barbie World” has been the standout hit from the film and was reportedly even requested to be highlighted on the soundtrack by the film’s star, Margot Robbie.

Earlier this month at the Barbie premiere, Nicki Minaj revealed she rejected several songs themed around the iconic doll before landing on the Ice Spice-assisted version.

“There were a couple songs that I didn’t love,” Nicki told Entertainment Tonight, adding that she had her pick of the litter prior to falling in love with the winning beat.

“This ‘Barbie’ sample, I loved it. I just wanted it to have a dope drum, and so the one that they sent me, I loved! And I jumped on it right away,” she added, referencing the RiotUSA-produced track, which is built on a sample of Aqua’s 1997 smash hit “Barbie Girl.”

The Young Money rapper also referred to being a part of the Barbie soundtrack as a “very full-circle moment,” noting how she’s “been saying ‘Barbie’ my whole career.”
