Nicki Minaj’s husband has cemented his credentials as a Barb after rapping her lyrics during an endearing livestream.

The couple appeared together on Instagram Live on Wednesday (March 7) where Nicki put Kenneth “Zoo” Petty‘s knowledge of her music to the test by challenging him to recite some of her rhymes.

“You say you the biggest Barb so now you gotta finish the lyric,” she said before spitting a few lines from her Pink Friday 2 track “Pink Birthday”: “Lowkey ‘cuz we just that ill now, ain’t never had a…”

Petty finished the line by rapping: “Bad bitch ’til now,” although Nicki was forced to correct him slightly as the actual line goes: “Ain’t never had a ill bitch ’til now.”

The “Roman’s Revenge” rapper continued the verse by spitting: “Post a pic, got ’em jackin’ like…,” to which her husband confidently picked up the baton: “Like Jill now.”

Petty scored another point when Nicki said: “Break the internet at…” and he responded: “At will now.”

Pleasantly surprised by her husband’s knowledge, Minaj declared that he “won Nicki trivia,” adding: “I ain’t gonna lie, I ain’t know you was gonna get the words like that at least once.”

Petty responded: “That’ all I listen to!”

While Kenneth Petty has largely remained out of the public eye since marrying Nicki Minaj in 2019, he has made headlines in recent years for all the wrong reasons.

In September, the 45-year-old was sentenced to 120 days of house arrest after threatening Offset — who is, of course, married to Nicki’s longtime rival Cardi B — on Instagram Live.

“Mr. Petty was recorded on video making threatening remarks towards a specific individual while in the company of someone with a criminal record,” read the judge’s order. “This recent violation conduct raises concerns over Mr. Petty’s willingness to comply with the Court’s orders.

“As such, the Probation Officer believes placement in the Location Monitoring Program will effectively allow for closer monitoring of Mr. Petty’s activities, limit his movements, provide a sanction for his non-compliance, and hopefully encourage him to reflect upon and reevaluate his current status in the community.”

Petty was previously given three years’ probation and one year house detention in July 2022 after failing to register as a sex offender in California, where he and Nicki moved in 2019 shortly before their wedding.

His sex offender status stems from a 1995 conviction for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, for which he spent four years in prison.
