New Orleans, LA

Nicki Minaj fans were quite upset to learn that her latest Pink Friday 2 World Tour stop was cancelled just hours before showtime.

The concert was set to go down in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday night (March 18). Early that afternoon, however, the Smoothie King Center announced that the New York City MC had been forced to postpone the show because she had fallen ill.

“Due to doctor’s orders, Nicki Minaj must reschedule her NOLA show tonight,” the statement read. “As Nicki is still sick, our team does not want to run the risk of getting others sick, and Nicki would not be able to give NOLA the show they deserve.”

The statement continued: “We are working diligently to find a new date, so please hold onto your tickets, and we will inform you all soon.”

The above news isn’t a huge surprise to many because Nicki told her fans and followers on that she woke up feeling sick the morning after her performance at Rolling Loud California last week. Fortunately, she tested negative for COVID-19.

“Barbz pls send me healing energy,” she tweeted. “woke up feeling like I had Covid. Thank God I don’t. You guys are just everything. I appreciate you. I love you so much.”

“That’s messed up 4 hours before the event,” one fan commented, while another wrote:”Idc what yall say hours before is INSANE,” while someone else said, “It’s not the fact we don’t support her, yall wait 4 to tell us when yall been knew she was sick that’s the issue.”

After an off day on Tuesday (March 19), she will head to Atlanta for back-to-back concerts. As of this writing, the shows are still scheduled to go on.

The North American leg of the Pink Friday 2 Tour kicked off on March 1 in Oakland and will wrap up on May 13 in Oklahoma City before the European leg begins just 10 days later in Amsterdam.

B.G. has already attended one of the shows, and he had all the praise for what he called “a night to remember.”

Last week, the “Really Understand” rhymer took to Instagram and recounted his experience.

He continued: “Real recognize Real and she’s definitely 1 of the realist this industry has to offer…I’m forever grateful for the love and friendship we share…what’s understood don’t need to be explained….”
