If there is one group that represents “old school meets new school,” it is Jurassic 5. The six man crew, which features 4 emcees and 2 deejays, have released 2 highly acclaimed LP’s and one EP. Their most recent, “Quality Control,” was their first release on a major label. With the help of Interscope Records, J5 sold 387,000 albums, very impressive for an underground crew.
Things haven’t changed for their new album, “Power In Numbers.” It will once again be an old school meets new record. The guest appearances are few, with only Big Daddy Kane and Nelly Furtado lending vocals. Helping Cut Chemist and NuMark on the boards will be Juju, Omar and Sledge. The album will drop in October 8th, watch out for a tour to supplement the album.
