Nelly Reveals His Favorite Ashanti Song

Nelly has revealed just what his favorite Ashanti song is.

Sitting down for a chat on Cocoa Butter with his wife, Nelly was asked to pick between various Ashanti records and in the end he picked “Baby” over the likes of “Foolish” and “Always on Time”.

He explained why he picked “Baby” over “Rain on Me”: “‘Rain on Me’ was at a different time in our relationship. We gon’ slide ‘Rain on Me’ along like that and stick with ‘Baby.’”

Nelly then said he picked “Baby” over some of her Ja Rule collaborations because it was a solo effort: “Yeah, some of them are with my brother Ja, ‘Baby’ is just my wife, I’m gonna ride with ‘Baby.’”

He added: “I love ‘Baby.’ That’s one of my favorite Ashanti records.”

Nelly’s political moves have recently garnered him so headlines, particularly his comments aimed at supporters of Kamala Harris who were less than impressed he performed at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Writing on Instagram, Nelly said: “Some of y’all have a problem with [us] because the prosecutor who has probably locked up more Black men that we’ve helped woman of color with the white husband and white kids did not win the election.”
