Nelly has called out Katt Williams for allegedly stealing a joke from fellow comedian J.B. Smoove.

Appearing on the Maverick Carter and Paul Rivera-hosted YouTube show The Shop alongside Cedric the Entertainer, the St. Louis rapper spoke about his issues with the controversial comedian.

As Cedric was discussing his beef with Katt, Nelly chimed in and said: “The hypocrisy of it is he stole J.B. Smoove’s joke!”

The claim was previously made by comedian Corey Holcomb who said on the Wonder Twinz podcast: “I dare somebody to say this ain’t true ’cause I can get a thousand comics to back me up.

“I root for Katt, but that joke where he do like, ‘Man, if you listen to this song, you can do anything off this song. That’s J.B. Smoove’s joke, homie.”

Clips were then shared online of Smoove performing the joke in 1996 on Def Comedy Jam and another of Williams doing a very similar routine on his 2007 tour.

Smoove himself has yet to comment on the alleged joke theft.

Katt Williams had previously accused Cedric The Entertainer of stealing one of his jokes.

During his viral appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast last month, Williams took aim at Cedric, saying: “He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know.

“The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’s ComicView twice. It had done so well on BET’s ComicView that they made it part of the commercial.”

“This is not just a random joke — this is my very best joke and it’s my last joke and it’s my closing joke,” he continued. “1998 I’m doing this joke, it’s on ComicView. Cedric comes to The Comedy Store. He watches me in the audience, he comes backstage. He tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke.

“Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on the Kings of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim. He’s just changed my car into a spaceship.”

Cedric immediately denied the accusation: “Revisionist History, regardless of whatever Katt’s opinion. My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his. I been [in] over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for [who] I am.”
