NBA YoungBoy is looking to offload some property as he’s decided to part ways with his pricey pad tucked away in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This week, the Baton Rouge rapper’s expansive abode, spanning 8,800 square feet with four beds — each adorned with marble-laced bathrooms — sprawling living areas, a five-car garage and a dazzling pool, hit Zillow for $5.5 million.

In addition to four bedrooms, the home features a central living room which boasts glass walls, a designer pool table, and a cozy fireplace in the master bedroom. Further, there’s a room dedicated to bunk beds and table-top games for guests, alongside a studio.

NBA YoungBoy, who has been confined to house arrest on what’s since been named “Gravedigger Mountain” since 2021, previously voiced his struggles with depression despite the luxuries his residence provides.

According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, which were filed late November, William K. Morris — the attorney working on behalf of the United States of America — questioned why the Baton Rouge native was denied mental health treatment simply because he’s on house arrest.

“The United States fails to see how the defendant’s current conditions of pre-trial release prohibit him from seeking and obtaining mental health treatment,” reads the motion in opposition to the request.

Morris’ motion underscored that while it’s not the government’s role to offer mental health services on request, YoungBoy faced zero blockers in accessing them from the comfort of his home.

“While the defendant categorizes his request as ‘narrowly tailored,’ … this question remains unresolved. Is he seeking the help of a mental health professional outside of the State of Utah? Is he seeking the help of a mental health professional outside of the United States? Are there not modern-world, widely available virtual options for him to seek help from a mental health professional of his choosing?” he wrote.

Morris’s motion was filed in opposition to one filed by NBA YoungBoy earlier this month, in which he requested an amendment to his house arrest rules. YoungBoy’s attorney claimed that the circumstances of the rapper’s house arrest have “led to great anxiety, depression, loss of weight and sleep.”

Further, he noted that the orders were solely based on evidence from police officers currently under investigation — a key assertion left unaddressed in the United States’ opposition motion.

Additional court documents obtained by HipHopDX revealed that NBA YoungBoy, unaware of the arresting officers’ investigation and subsequent arrest, filed a memorandum supporting his release, arguing it’s a matter of honoring his human rights.

“18 U.S.C. § 3142(f), allows for the detention hearing to be reopened at any time before trial if the judicial officer finds that information exists that was not known to the movant at the time of the hearing and that has a material bearing on the issue of whether there are conditions of release that will reasonably assure the appearance of the person as required and the safety of any other person and the community,” the memorandum read.

The Baton Rouge native went on express concern about album sales declining due to travel restrictions but that he doesn’t want to “burden this Honorable Court with each employment-related request but needs the ability to request such activities in order to maintain his employment as ordered.”
