Nas’ Mass Appeal Records Compilation Album Release Date Pushed Back

Nas’ Mass Appeal Records is scheduled to release a compilation album September 2, according to the label.

HipHopDX learned this during a recent interview with Boldy James, who spoke about how he became a part of the imprint. But Boldy isn’t alone in the Mass Appeal family and therefore, several other acts are also set to appear on the album.

Naturally, Nas is set to appear on the album as he’s recently worked with Mass Appeal artists for the project. Fashawn and Bishop Nehru are also scheduled to appear on the effort.

When Nas announced the launch of the label in May, the Queensbridge emcee spoke about his excitement regarding Mass Appeal.

“I’m excited to be a part of creating and supporting future careers and legacy artists, promoting love and finding new genius to help the world,” Nas said at the time. “I’m going to be as involved as I need to be, but I also want to be respectful of the art and give artists the space they need to grow and become themselves.”

    1. Drake licks buttholes, nothing to do with this, just saying, the nigga licks pie crust, that is all.

      1. When people drag artists into random unrelated article comments you know you made it! Congrats drake

    2. Am I the only one who is extremely confused why Nas would even have any claim to the NY throne , I know I know Illmaticcc but otherwise? To me 50 , Dmx, method man have more of a claim

      1. you’re extremely confused because youre a 16 year old white boy faggot who only knows about pop gangster rappers from the 2000’s.

      2. Nah he’s confused because Nas hasn’t done shit, 50 sold 15 million records in a two year span, method man is one of the hardest rappers period let alone New York, Dmx is an actual ride or die nigga who could make platinum bangers while spitting the grimiest shit, Jay z obviously has a solid resume, all of the above are better candidates for KING of NY than Nas would ever be, your the fsggot son^

      3. Nas made one great record that nobody listens to anymore. Then he got with Kelis and lost all his money cause deep down he’s a fucking idiot

      4. ^You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, Nas changed the hip hop game with his complex rhyme patterns and vivid storytelling. He influenced pretty much every rapper after him which is why he is so highly respected by everyone in hip hop. Know your hip hop history, before you spread your ignorance.

      5. He made one ok album with illmatic and fell off right after. Drake, Wayne, Ross, and Mc Hammer are much bigger influences.

      6. haha little faggot 16 year old probably. illmatic, stillmatic, gods son, life is good. at least mention jay-z or someone from wu tang shit man rap game is all fucked up these days

      7. The only one u mentioned that. Comes close to nas is meth, but i never considered anyone out of wu tang kings of new york, there the gods and whats a king to a god? U trippin on that nas only had one good album u must be a jay z stan. It was written is actually better thsn illmatic and shits on everything out now. Dmx is the king of cracked out washed up ny rappers. And 50 cent is the king of steroids fuck that gorilla he ruined ny hip hop, everyone knows that. The only true king of ny is BIG, no one before, no one after

      1. Yeh I remember Ill Will records, typical Nas just got lazy and left that shit out to rot. I feel bad for Boldy James especially because I like the dude, but this ship isnt leaving the station.

    3. Is he giving royalties to Primo and Guru’s fam on this?

“Money’s growing grass with the mass appeal… ma-ma-mass appeal.”

    4. People saying that Nas only released one good album didn’t listen to: It Was Written, Stillmatic, or God’s Son. Additionally, he influenced so many styles, including those of Jay-Z and even Biggie..if you don’t understand the influence this man has had on hip hop, you might wanna do some research before making stupid comments.

      1. Dude you reading boxes from posers trying to fit in who aint about this hiphop culture

Yall muthafukers need to recognize this internet fukery real quick and call them out accordingly because they dont gaf how this turns out

This just makes them look cool to their pussy ass friends

      1. Why? He’s washed up and broke. Just ask Kelis who had to downsize her living arrangements from a three car garage to parking on the street.

    5. “Lmao Nas has 7 platinum albums. The entire MMG squad has a total of 0”

All achieved when CD’s practically sold themselves. Today his shit flops, and even Ross sells more. Plus Ross fosters new talent daily. When was the last time Nas helped launch the career of one of his weed carriers?

      1. Lol @ these anonymous lames commenting like they know what they talking about…NAS> your favorite rapper and your life…

      2. “All achieved when CD’s practically sold themselves”

what did you say homo? You mean the 90 and late 90’s, before the Internet Boom and Napste?

Nas last album went Gold, you imbecile. All his albums went Gold Or Platinum in the 2000’s and he is for sure going to sell more, even without RAdio play and the big corporations behind him!

The hate in you for a legend is disgusting, did he fuck your mama or something? LOL

      3. @ WTF. Exactly these cornball weirdos are so fucking pathetic

why have so much hate for someone who you have never met in your life jealousy is a female trait

      4. Ross’ last album flopped hard and sold less than Nas. And Ross never fostered any talent, they’re all weed carriers, too.

    6. And nas shit dont flop when the dude gets no radio/tv play and still goes number 1 on the billboard when his shit releases…

    7. “Nas last album went Gold, you imbecile. All his albums went Gold Or Platinum in the 2000’s and he is for sure going to sell more”

His last album didn’t even push 400k. Not even close to gold status. Nice try though.

      1. Still outsold Mastermind which is sad considering Ross gets more media coverage and radio play. FLOP

    8. “Ross’ last album flopped hard and sold less than Nas. And Ross never fostered any talent, they’re all weed carriers, too”

At least Ross’s weed carriers had albums. When was the last time Nas launched somebody’s career? I’m waiting.

      1. Lmao Nas has had a huge influence on the rap game. A lot of MC’s have to credit Nas for their style.

      2. “At least Ross’s weed carriers had albums. ”

Gunplay 35 years old still waiting to get a release date for his first album after carrying Officer Rickys sack for 10+ years and watching him give cats like Meek, Wale and Stalley release dates and budgets. That shows how loyal Ross is.

    9. You Rick Ross trolls are pathetic. Come talk to me when Ross drops a classic album or goes platinum. Lmao It Was Written outsold Ross’ entire discography. LMAO

    10. gonna have to check these dudes out. haven’t heard them yet. If you’re on a hip-hop website hating on Nas you don’t belong here

    11. “Still outsold Mastermind which is sad considering Ross gets more media coverage and radio play”

      Mastermind -362,000
      Life Is Good – 354,000

      Do your homework rookie.

    12. wait…wait a second..is there real people out there that sit on the computer & look up record sales? Not going to have a real rap discussion about Fashawn or Bishop? Iight its officially quiet for this site..Not only does the “journalism” sucks, but so does the shitty stank ass Comment section.

HHDX finally, hold down this L for good. Yawl nigguhs suck

    13. Ya shit pushed back cause it aint buzzin

Hood Billion coming October 31, another platinum album for MMG bitches,

      1. Nas sales were under accounted for by the haters. Plus his whole catalog is unlimited diamond certified due to unlimited digital copies available.

    14. no drake feature no album sales. Drake makes and revive rappers carreers. With out drake a lot of these rappers wouldnt have made it big.

      1. “no drake feature no album sales.”

Tell that to DJ Khaled, Birdman, Timbaland, Diddy, Bun B, Tyga, Waka Flocka Flame, French Montana, Meek Mill, Snoop Lion, Partynextdoor, YG, Romeo Santos, Future, DJ Drama and Game who all featured Drake on their albums and didn’t even go gold doing so. Damn, I just wasted my time on a troll.

    15. it might be a good idea for him to release an album first LOL nas buzz is on sub zero noones gonna wanna hear his undercast

    16. I make up to $90 an hour working from my home. My story is that I quit working at Walmart to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $40h to $86h Someone was good to me by sharing this link with me, so now i am hoping i could help someone else out there by sharing this link… Try it, you won’t regret it!…….

    17. Why the fuck r ppl still talkin about album sales?! Don’t ppl realize that you don’t have a sell an album now and days to go platinum. Ppl bring out free music on mixtapes and go platinum because the singles itself sell records which end up on the billboard charts. If you can bring out 3-4 singles to do 3-400,000 records then there goes being platinum. As many ppl hate her, Iggy went platinum off one single, Fancy, didn’t need to sell an album. Ppl book a lot of shows anyway to cover ground for their sells as well. Some artist still go platinum from selling records, but selling actually albums been dead.
