Nas Gives “Lost Tapes Volume 2” Release Date

When Nas announced in June that there could be second and third volumes of The Lost Tapes, fans of the Queens emcee undoubtedly salivated at the prospect.

The Lost Tapes, a 2002 compilation release of Nas tracks recorded between 1998 and 2001, quickly became a fan favorite with tracks like “No Idea’s Original,” “Drunk By Myself,” and “Poppa Was a Playa.”

MTV’s Shaheem Reid (@ShaheemReid) broke the story via his Twitter page. “@Nas sent word my way that Lost Tapes Volume 2 comes out on December 14,” he wrote.

Two hours later, Nas confirmed the news on Twitter, writing, “It’s coming… LOST TAPES VOLUME TWO!!!”

      1. say whaaaaT? i hate when some Nas fans say untitled was weak, that shit was one of his best albums….whole thing was nice and had some good production on it….cant wait for my nigga nasty to release LTV2

    1. FUCK Nas, aint no one care bout his preaching ass. He should find an ear for beats b4 he puts out anymore music. #washedup

      1. You going from site to site speaking the negative hate about Nas….you are a LOSER! Nas keep doing you…Lost Tapes 2!

      2. I actually agree with you except the “FUCK Nas, aint no one care bout his preaching ass” part. Dude does need better beat picking skills… but he lyrically [is] needed. I would rather hear him preach any day than hear soulja boy do anything…EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

      3. Oh and I bet Lil Wayne and Drake is more consistent than Nas right?
        Washed up?
When he dropped one of the best releases of the year with an artist that doesn’t even have half his lyrical skills
Name a album from your favorite rapper that is light years better than Lost Tapes 1!
Im sorry that shit is vice-versa
        you cock-sucking corpse fucker!!

      4. No that’s funny that’s like saying Fuck 88% of the rap game they all learned from him, even JIGGA what a lame!!

    2. Sorry, I’ll wait till I see it…also rather the tracks from the Primo sessions more than anything else. Rappers claim they got an ear to the streets and what their fans want….I highly doubt thats the truth

      1. So since you have the “ear for streets” why don’t you put out music to represent it? Niggas don’t even have the gift to do nothing more than talk shit but yet criticize those who do…now that is NO doubt the truth! Lost Tape 2!

    3. Cant wa8 4 my nigga’s new material, Nas u always on time but never on schedule, Luv u dawg. Lost Tape 2, haters be nervous.

    4. best news i’ve heard in quite some time.. something enlightening and less predictive to look forward to for a change

never on time but always original…nas is the only one who brings REAL HIPHOP everytime. all you hating m*****f****** just refrain from posting negatives n let the space be used for positive posts. lost tapes 1 was classic, lost tapes 2 should be classic as well. Nas Is Like…like he been here since 1991, how many are still around from that era? fools keep ya trap shut.ONE LOVE.

just to let you know nas is not even in the same realm as these wack ass rappers of today..none speak to me like nas does. listen to the words not the beat.

as for truthfullassnigga what do you know about THE REAL HIPHOP????

    7. WOW the first lost tapes was better than most albums so this sounds like a graet idea
please put on it the joint him an damian marley did that did nt make the album for hhid

    8. I fucks with Nas got all his shit, but Untitled was some bullshit. I guess ya’ll was too young to understand Illmatic, It was Written and I AM.. Remi Salaam has ruined his career if he has No ID, Kanye, 9th wonder Pete Rock and Primo on his new joints he’ll be back on

      1. Dude the disparity between Untitled and those other albums are the quality of the beats…what’s not to get?! And I’m pretty sure that an album about introspective commentary on race relations (Unittled/N!gger album) is harder to understand than traditional east coast hardcore.

    9. nas last album was crazy we all know that it will be classic in due time lost tapes 2
cant wait just put that joint he did with damian- white mans paper on it..

    10. i wonder if it’ll have some illmatic cuts. I know those are better than most albums. you know, from the 1991 demo tape. youtube it

    11. It should be good, Lost Tapes is a classic, but unlike 2001, most songs have probably been leaked at some point. Heres hoping that’s not the case and they have been in the vault for this album.

    12. Nas Is the Greatest Rapper Of all Time ilmatic and Lost Tapes were my favorite nas albums
