Moneybagg Yo has reportedly been sued by a concert promoter who claims that the rapper canceled his appearance at a festival in 2021 — but some questions have arisen about the situation.
During an autograph signing appearance on Saturday (December 9), the Memphis native was approached by a woman claiming to be a process server, who threw down papers on the table and told the rapper, “you’ve been served.”

Moneybagg Yo subsequently took to his Twitter page on Sunday (December 10) to laugh the whole thing off in a post that simply read, “Small thing to a giant.”

The promoter in question — Baton Rouge native Adrian “Ace” Hammond — previously made headlines for beefing with Kanye West back in 2019, according to The Advocate, and had been previously convicted of a wide sundry of federal crimes by the Department of Justice.
After the footage of Big Bagg’s apparent process of service, began making the rounds online, Hammond reposted the clip claiming that he had “15 attorneys” working on his behalf.

However, HipHopDX has conducted an extensive search of the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system, Baton Rouge civil records, and Shelby County (Memphis) civil records, and found no record of any lawsuit against the rapper, born DeMario DeWayne White Jr.
HipHopDX has reached out to Hammond for clarification and comment.

The alleged breach of contract in question stems from a 2021 concert called Summer Fest, which was held in Baton Rouge over the Fourth of July weekend, and was scheduled to feature Moneybagg Yo and Rod Wave, amongst other performers.
Hammond’s Instagram posts from the time can be shown promoting the concert with the “Waukesha” rapper included in the lineup.
Unfortunately, Moneybagg Yo claimed in his Instagram stories at the time that he wasn’t able to attend the concert due to “problems with the PJ [private jet],” which is where the alleged breach of contract comes into play.
Regardless of what may have happened with this booking, promoters know Moneybagg Yo can be counted on to pack out arenas, as was discovered over the summer when a Detroit concert was shut down by authorities due to being “over capacity.”

The Memphis rapper was set to perform at Detroit’s Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre on August 20, but had the performance halted by local Fire Marshalls at the last minute due to over capacity.
In a clip of the debacle posted by Akademiks, a massive crowd can be heard booing after news spread of the cancelation.

Moneybagg also took to Twitter to share his disappointment at the cancelation, sharing a hand slap to the face emoji.
